Indra Smart Charger offline so no Charge Anytime savings

We are offline as well, thought it was just ours so will log a support call as well. 😡

Can’t be sure, but it was sometime around the 22 /23 I think. Our car was off being serviced last week and is now off getting something else fixed so only noticed again last night when we plugged in.

Unfortunately, our charger has never appeared on our router - I think ChargedEV used a 3G dongle, so we don’t have any control of that. `So there’s nothing I can do till a service person comes round.

I’ve just downloaded the new OVO Anytime app, and registered our Tesla with it. I am now able to charge at the 10p rate from the granny charger. It started charging via the car’s telemetry and is now pausing till 13:00 when OVO has some spare power. As the sun isn’t out, this is OK, but I don’t believe it can take any notice of my home solar generation - only the smart charger can do that.  No doubt when the smart charger is back on line, we will have all sorts of problems with conflicts between the two Kaluza apps.

To make matters worse, I am waiting for Indra to let me use their new improved app which will allow us to have two cars, but apparently it isn’t yet compatible with Charge Anytime.

Oh wait, 3G dongle right? You might need Indra to replace that dongle - 3G is being terminated across the UK at the moment so the dongle needs to be swapped to a 4G one.

It might be a 4G dongle - I only guessed at that!

I’ve had an engineer from ChargedEV on the phone today for a long time trying to get my charger re-connected, to no avail. They are arranging to send someone out to fix it. There seems to be disagreement as to whether it is connected via WiFi or Cellular. I have never seen it on our router, and he couldn’t get it to connect after I had run round the house turning off our router and 3 mesh boxes. I’m not sure how the average user copes with the complexity of these systems - at least I have loads of knowledge, but it doesn’t seem to help.

The OVO Anytime app is working very nicely controlling the car, but of course, only at max of 10A on my granny charger. I also believe I have to do manual control of charge current to make use of solar power.

I had a visit from ChargedEV yesterday, and the engineer declared that the charger was faulty and he needed to replace it. I now have the latest 2023 spec INDRA smart charger which works with the latest INDRA app which can balance car charging against solar generation.

I have been using the OVO Charge Anytime with my granny charger while waiting for the ChargedEV visit, and I now need to connect the INDRA to OVO Charge Anytime to take advantage of the 10p per unit price.  I can tell Charge Anytime to take power urgently, and then manually control the current taken by the car to balance against solar generation, but I would like it all to work automatically from the INDRA app.

Can someone advise me how to go about that, please.

ps - there was a WiFi dongle in the old unit, and the new one, and I still can’t identify it on my router. The engineer did have to go through pressing the WPS button and several attempts to get it on line.

WPS is a long dead, insecure and broken feature and tbh should be completely dropped from the Wi-Fi Standards. I don’t think it’ll exist for much longer somehow.

But hey, really cool genius idea to include a feature that lets me steal ya Wi-Fi Password at the press of a button, just so that people don’t have to enter it to connect a new device.

We have a Toyota RAV4 PHEV. When the car has no charge left in its battery, we plug it in to the charger ready to charge overnight as per the set charging schedule. However it either does not charge at all or charges for 10 to 15 minutes .One time it has been plugged in for 2 nights running and has not charged at all. We plugged the car in on Thursday night and it charged 3.0kwh and again on Friday night when it charged 1.4kwh. Both times the battery had no charge left when we plugged it in. On Wednesday night it fully charged.

Charging with the app is completed erratic and unreliable. ChargedEV say there is nothing wrong with the charger. Indra says that the app is sending a message to the car which it is not accepting  and to check with Toyota. We have checked with our local Toyota dealer, they said to check the cars scheduling , which we did and it has never been set up with a charging schedule. We were told to delete any Toyota apps that we might have installed which we did. We have emailed this information to Indra a week ago and have no response.

What method did you use to hook up Charge Anytime? EV or Charger?

What Charger do you have?

Where are ANY schedules set up? Please tell me ALL the places you manage them.

We have a Indra Pro Smart3 charger.

We hooked up with the Charger.

The schedule is set for 6.30am for 4 mornings a week and 7.00am for the other 3.
