Can I have Heat Pump Plus with SEG Install Exclusive tariff?

I have solar and battery installed through Ovo currently exporting on the SEG Install Exclusive tariff. I'll be getting a great pink soon and am looking at tariff options. 

How does the Heat Pump Plus tariff calculate the electricity used by a heat pump if some is generated by solar and not imported? Is it as simple as the 15p/kWh cost being applied to any electricity imported, up to the amount that the heat pump has used? Over what period is this calculated? 

I’d like to work out the most cost effective way to run the systems if I get paid 20p for export but only pay 15p for import!

I’ve heard back from the team internally and they’ve confirmed that we don’t currently allow customers with SEG exclusive to access Heat Pump Plus as well.

    Thanks ​@Ben_OVO, does that apply to all SEG tariffs or just Exclusive? Could I theoretically switch to non-exclusive for the winter, with the heat pump add-on, then back again in the spring when there'll be more export?

    It’s fair to say that the rapid changes in the energy industry regarding Net Zero and increasing amounts of renewables appear to be the cause of a number of significant changes in what energy suppliers are now saying they can offer. Where discount schemes for EV charging are offered by some they are have applied significant increases to the non-discount rate (18 hours out of the 24) to well over 30p/unit. OVO increased their charging rate to 14p but kept the non-discount rate at a reasonable level of about 26p. Octopus have now said they are strictly enforcing the 6 hour charge period for one of their tariffs so it’s not just OVO.  If you are thinking of changing then you need to take care that any new tariff is going to work for you.
