Are OVO planning to expand the Heat Pump Plus Tariff to existing heat pump customers?

I am an OVO customer and have been running a heat pump for almost two years, so am really disappointed that existing account holders with heat pumps are not able to benefit from the heat pump plus tariff. Are OVO going to extend the tariff to existing heat pump users any time soon or is this yet another instance of existing OVO customers with heat pumps being disadvantaged for already doing what OVO wants householders to do  - install a heat  pump - but just not an OVO heat pump?

We continue to roll out more compatibility with Heat Pump Plus, and will post updates on any new partnerships as we move forward. For more on our current partnerships and compatibility, see the Heat Pump Plus homepage. Or view our helpful forum topics below:

It’s possible that it might expand later. Charge Anytime started out as being exclusive to those on OVO Drive where you then had the OVO Drive + Anytime add-on available, before being reimagined as Charge Anytime and unlocked for everyone regardless of tariff.

It’s possible that Heat Pump Plus is a similar story - restricted while testing it out and then opened up more widely later.

Is there any update on availability of OVO heat pump plus to current Vaillant owners?

Thanks for looking but it seems like there is no news on this. Why does OVO keep adding new more types of heat pumps to be compatible with their heat pump plus tariff but not make the tariff available to more users? Seems to be a curious strategy. Perhaps there is a grand plan to this that will be revealed but, if so, it's been a long time coming.

Hi @Martin53,

I’ve checked this with the team. They’ve responded saying:

“The add on is available to current Vaillant owners. They need to have the Vaillant arotherm 2016 +, have a smart meter and have the connect gateway installed and be on OVO. They just need to fill in the form on OVO's website - https://www.ovoenergy.com/heat-pump-plus.”

Hope this helps.
