I have noticed several times that OVO Energy offers points for the best answer. Just what are these points for and can they be used for something? My view is there should be no points as everyone should have the chance to give their best answer. Just who is the judge that decides who get the points and do they have a criteria?

I have solar panels running under the FITs system. I get an amount for the generated power and a deemed amount at 50% of the generated. If I move to a Smart meter what happens to the FITs payments? Will I end up out of pocket by moving across?

I have moved into a flat and removing storage heaters to fit electric radiators. However the circuit is on economy 7 and sockets dont work daytime. I know I can get an electrician to alter the fuseboard but it runs through the economy 7 meter so would need that removed?

I am confused. We bought this 1969 house in 1973 and it has still got the underfloor electric heating. we have 2 meters and two mpans. one meter is attached to the consumer unit which supplies all of the lighting and 13 amp sockets and electric shower plus a socket in th airing cupboard into which we could plug the immersion heater if we wanted hot water outside the offpeak times.. The other meter is supplied via a mechanical timer and supplies a separate consumer unit which is connected only to all of the underfloor heating in every room and the hot water immersion heater only. This meter appears to be switching on and off between 1400 and 1800 and 2200and 0800 and was billed when we first moved in as off peak rate B by the eastern electric board. If we went to smart meters would we not want one for the general 24hours cicuit board and a second one for the heating and hot water board replacing the two meters we have installed at present The current meters were replacements fitted abou

Hi, I’ve recently turned my bathroom extractor fan back on and I’ve noticed that it has a flashing orange LED, right next to a green one. Any idea what this means? I don’t know the exact model but the brand is Nuaire and it’s mounted on the ceiling.

I copy my bills each time they are created. The next time I look at the bill, readings and charges remain the same, but the brought forward and carried forward balances are changed. Surely these should be fixed at when the pdf version of the bill is first generated.

Hi. I am trying to see the ‘Energy to User’ data so that I can download it together with the ‘Energy from Grid’ data and then can calculate the energy provided by the panels and inverter. Does anyone know why I can’t see the Energy to user data please? thank you in advance for the help.

OVO have told me they can’t remove my dual meter. I moved in to a new property with 4 old storage heaters. The house EPC is rated an E. I can get a grant for an air source heat pump but the installers say that second meter must be removed. Storage heaters have not been used since I moved in and the meter obviously hasn’t either. as we get closer to Autumn I am keen to get a the new central heating system installed, however 2 long calls to OVO (on hold for most of it) and told they don’t have anyone available to do it. What can I do? OVO said that the Air source heat pump will run of one meter which I am well aware of, that was not my question, it was getting the second redundant one removed.

Do Ovo do a tariff that’s compatible with storage heaters? I’ve been with Ovo a long time and really didn’t want to have to change.

Waiting for emergency electrician unable to get hold of anyone at OvO. No electrician has turned up. Been without electricity since 10am this morning. Its now 7pm. Very disappointed eith service and limited communication with company.

Hi there, newbie here to Ovo and to smart meters - and certainly not an expert in electrical setup. We moved into our new property just 10 days ago. Still surrounded by boxes to unpack. I’m feeling a little stupid, but for the life of me I can’t find our electricity meter (or if I’ve found it, I don’t recognise it as one). I’ve found the smart gas meter, next to the gas boiler. This is a SMETS2 meter installed in 2021, with red A and black B buttons on. If I press either of them I get a gas reading with ‘m3’ units. There is also a honeywell smart thermostat. I’ve searched all around the outside of the property (front and back), and all the rooms, corridors, etc for the electricity meter. It’s not a huge property so there aren’t many places it could be. There is an electricity ‘meter box’ outside at the front with the standard triangular key. Inside there is a big Series 7 100A cut-out fuse box. But there is no meter as far as I can tell. Where I now work there is a solar array of 17KW going into a suitably sized invertor. We use a ton of energy and we’re trying to find a way of reducing our use as well as generating more. We get big bills. I’ve been tracking our energy use over the year to see how much we use and when, and how much is generated from the solar PV array. This week is has been a very clear, no clouds or haze, and sunny in London. According to local weather stats this month should be peak sunshine for the year. I would expect our array to be producing the maximum it could at certain times of the day. The array is on the roof of a 3 story building, nothing overshadowing it. The panels I believe are unobstructed. They are angled in a particular direction (I assume the most efficient direction). I assume the installation was competent (back in 2014). We’re generating a maximum of 10.5KW at the peak of the day on one of the sunniest days of the year. I understand we won’t get the full 17KW, but is 10.5 the max

We're in a quandary, so any advice appreciated. Our development Landlord set up one supply both for six apartments (communal supply) and to cover outside lighting for all 17 properties (11 houses plus six apartments). Our management deeds confirmed an apportionment of 10% for apartments. The householders asked to have it reviewed and the independent review confirmed 8%. Suddenly 13 years later without our knowledge or permission (consumer unit access is in the apartment communal garden, and they only had permission to read the meter) the self managed management company for the estate ( whom apartment owners are also members of) put in a pulse meter and then demanded that the apartments pay 50% of the bill as that's what their meter says! We are in the process of setting up a freehold company for the apartments so in that sense and in view of this and other disputes with the management company we would very much like to completely separate the supplies for estate lighting and apartment

Hi All. We had our first ever smart meter fitted some weeks ago now which had to be replaced by an emergency engineer a day later as our storage heaters and hot water would not come on. (Economy 7) The new meter seems to be communicating with OVO to some degree but is only using TOU1 and is not using TOU2 at all which displays 00000 kWh. We have agreed a peak/off peak plan with OVO but the IHD is displaying a single tariff of 30.86p per kWh which is not our agreed plan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My gas meter is faulty and showing vend mode when I am a pay monthly customer. Since Saturday no gas supply ans no answer from ovo socials! Now a bank holiday and still no way to contact them. Shocking service surley they must have some emergency contact details 🙄, no heating , water or cooking facilities for what is potentially going to 3 days

I am in urgent need of help and advice. I currently have a 2 x 100A Supply into a mixed commercial/residential building and have just had a new 3-phase 100A supply installed, currently looking for a supplier to install meters. The issue I have is that I may have a requirement for a 3-phase supply in either the new cafe or the new warehouse but my electrical contractor is advising me to split my new 3-phase supply on the 3 flats but that means I then have only 2 x 100A supply for the rest of the building. I really want to use the 3-phase supply to service both my warehouse and my cafe which may have some requirements for a 3-phase supply which I will not have from my residential flats. If I keep my 3-phase supply can I split that supply between meters and allowing for diversity to run all of my appliances that require a heavier load from the 3-phase supply i.e, kitchen appliances and warehouse equipment.

About 18 months ago I had a single (second hand non-smart) E7 meter fitted to replace the previous 2 meter set up on which I was charges a legacy tariff. I had asked for a smart meter but the engineer told me on arrival that this would not be possible, and offered me the 2nd hand E7 meter which he just happened to have in his van. The whole idea was to allow me to shop around for the best deal, which with 2 separate meters had not been possible. Events since have scuppered that but hopefully there will be a competitive market again sometime! Embarrassingly, I have only just realised that the cheap rate only applies to the immersion heater and storage heater. Would it be possible to have the meter changed so all my usage during the E7 period (midnight to 7am) is charges at the cheap rate? This seems to be how it is expected to be used. Thanks in advance.
