Can anyone make sense of the 556kwh and 602kwh charges for me please ? I have emailed the chargeanytime team 2 times but had no reply. I have only charged my 61kwh car so do not know where them numbers came from. Amy help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all.

The charge anytime got back to my email. And hopefully all sorted now. It was just an error on their side not mine so has not charged me .

Download the OVO Charge app from the App Store or Google Play.

Can you see similar numbers on your usage chart for those days ?

What does your Zappi app show for the last month ? Can you show evidence of the actual charging you did ? Something must have produced crazy numbers !!

eg this is mine:

Nothing above 9kwh

Careful! The chart shows the power draw in kW. While the charger is most of the time limited to the 7 kW it’s supposedly rated at, there is one almost 9 kW spike on 25 August. You get the amount of energy used by multiplying the draw in kW by the time it lasts for in hours to get kWh (kiloWatt-hours). The chart doesn’t give any clear indication of the duration of each stripe, but there does seem to have been an awful lot of electricity flowing on 25 August - more than your car’s battery could contain.

You should contact the Charge Anytime team to ask them what’s going on. They should be able to access the logs for your charger for detailed examination.

How to get in contact with the Charge Anytime team

  • Call 0330 175 9678 (Option 1 new customers/option 2 existing customers)

  • Email via chargeanytime@ovo.com

  • Webchat, click the link then the green chat icon at the bottom right of the page

That's the chart for each individual day.

From the earlier chart, it looks as if much of the usage attributed to 25 August in fact took place the previous evening (although it’s infuriatingly difficult to examine charts with such woolly axis labels 😡). You might want to set the chart for 24 August side by side to try and get the complete picture. In any case, there’s a world of difference between the 19.8kWh shown on the day chart and the 602.1kWh on the Savings page.

Best of luck with calling the CA team on Monday 🤞

Yes thanks

Will try call them Monday. The charge anytime chart and price does not tally up with my actual usage them days (before and after) so hopefully just an error on the app. Unless about 10 other cars are sneaking a charge on mine ha.

Will hopefully follow up with how I got on but appreciate all the comments and help so far from all.

Hey @Jojostar64

I’ve popped this over to the team to see if they can shed any light here as that does appear to be quite out of line. I’ll pop back here as soon as I have more from the team.

Hey @Jojostar64,

Welcome to the community!

I just wanted to let you know that I spoke with @Abby_OVO and noticed you created this thread but also commented on another one where @Abby_OVO had already responded. To keep everything nice and tidy, we’re going to merge your conversation into this thread since it looks like a separate issue.

@Abby_OVO will get back to you here as soon as she hears from the team.

If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!

Hey @Jojostar64

Thank you for popping that on here! I’ve had a very similar response from the team so that’s good to see they’ve been able to reassure you on this and that you won’t ever be charged what’s stated on there - it’ll always come from the smart meter usage.

If you’ve ever got any other questions in future, feel free to stop by any time.😊
