@Sulakshana88 I saw something similar this month on my bill. But a couple of days later it reflected all the savings. Not seen that before so I am assuming OVO had some kind of “glitch” on their system this month.

Download the OVO Charge app from the App Store or Google Play.

Hey @Sulakshana88,

Welcome to the OVO Online Community,

The following topics might be helpful:

How does Charge Anytime work?

All the electricity you use will initially be charged at your standard home electricity rate. This is the rate that’ll be reflected in your live balance and on your bill.

At the end of the month, we’ll work out how much energy you've used to smart charge your EV.

We'll use this to calculate how much credit we need to add to your account in the first week of the following month.

Example:

The Charge Anytime rate is 7p a kWh. And let's say your standard electricity rate is 26p a kWh.

We’ll credit you 19p for each kWh you’ve used to smart charge your EV. To make your smart charging rate 7p.

This means if you use 100 kWh of energy smart charging your EV, you’ll get £19 in credit back on your bill.

You can override your smart charging schedule by using the Urgent Charge function, to start charging your EV immediately. This is charged at your standard home electricity rate, not 7p per kWh.

You can find out more about how we calculate your credit in our terms and conditions.

Hi @Sulakshana88,

@oho has given some really helpful advice here - it’s true that there may be glitches or delays from time to time in the data you see online. This can sometimes be the case with other features of the OVO online account / app as well. Please could you let us know if you can now see up to date data?

Sort of related question:

How does the app work out the savings?

I’m on dual rate Economy 10.

Are my “savings” relative to the (higher) peak rate - which seems to be (though not exactly) the case?

It might be exactly the case if OVO actually use more than one decimal place in their calculations rather than just the one place shown in the app.

Also, is the Charge Anytime rate 7p without VAT and 7.35p with VAT? Pretty sure that’s the case.

I’d like to tie up my savings calculation with the app.

Hey @Sandy42

Have you been in touch with the Charge Anytime team to confirm if your savings are correct? If you’re not yet signed up to Charge Anytime, you can do so on the Charge Anytime webpage and FAQs to find out more about how Charge Anytime will work for you.

Example;

I hope this helps, you can also reach out to the Charge Anytime team directly with further questions too:
