Hi, i have a BMW I4, a company car, and i need to enter the actual kwh into my company app for business mile reimbursement.  I have been using 7p as this is the charge anytime rate but when i calculated the actual reimbursement i have had over the last 3 months it averages, each month, to 10p / kwh so less reimbursement than i was expecting.  I was expecting a reimbursement per charging session of 16.44p (23.44p - 7p) to take me to 7p actual.

I don’t have the override feature enabled so i was surprised by this.

Anyone else see this?

thanks for any help!

It is actually 7p/kWh - feel free to discuss this one with the Charge Anytime team though! 0330 175 9678

i know it’s 7p but it’s not what i’m seeing eg.

Sun charged 43kwh, this is what my car and my charger recorded…..Charge Any Time recorded 38.3 kwh and reimbursed based on that.  Time before that 43 kwh charged, anytme 33 kwh…...Hence the difference.

It’s possible there was some pre-conditioning or similar that isn’t tracked. You should chat with the team and they can dig into it for you.

Ok, I’ve had a chat with the Charge Anytime team out the back.

They suspect what’s happening here is that when you plug in, your BMW is initially charging immediately at full rate for somewhere between 5-15 minutes before Charge Anytime takes over and pauses charging so that the schedules can kick in. This short period is at full rate because it takes at least that time for BMW to notify OVO/Kaluza that the EV has been connected to a Charger.

There isn’t really a way to improve this unfortunately - it’s all down to how fast BMW reacts!

Thanks for the super quick reply, awesome support.  I suspected what you found but good to confirm.  I’ll update my average charging rate for my company car :)

thanks again!

Hehehe, thanks! That’s the power of Forum Volunteers like myself. We don’t work for OVO, but we are very well known for what we do.

We’re here in case you need us for anything else, so feel free to swing by anytime!

AACK! I just realised I said Power Move team rather than Charge Anytime team - sorry!!!

I’ve fixed the comment now. We’ve just had a lot of Power Move activity on the Forum recently, kinda hard to break the habit. :D
