Hey everyone, this week I picked up a new mini cooper E from the dealer.

I already had OVO at my house to upgraded to charge anytime.

I have a smart charger but it isnt compatible with charge anytime so I have set it up as a dummy charger and troubleshooted to prove my charger isn’t causing any of my issues

When I set my “ready by” time, the car starts charging and then I get a notification from the mini app along the lines of “charging paused, it will resume again at..” confirming that ovo is speaking to the car.

The charge anytime app will then state that charging will resume at 3am lets say

Every morning I wake up, and I have a notification from mini at the time ovo said it would start charging to say “charging interrupted, check power supply and plug in again”

I have troubleshooted and remove ovo charge anytime to test start/stopping charging through my mini app which works without issue, so my charger is happy to start and stop charging whenever my car decides so I’m confident that the charger is not the issue.

I contacted OVO who said all looks good on their side, but have now asked if my car is going into deep sleep mode overnight and therefore not accepting the communication from charge anytime to start charging again. They have suggested I turn the deep sleep mode off and try that.

I contacted mini and they advised me to set a charging schedule from 0:00 to 23:59 so that my car is always ready to accept charge, but I feel this may conflict with charge anytime?

Does anyone have a mini, especially a 2025 cooper E that could advise if they’ve had similar issues and what their settings are to help me get past this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hey @Lyds4,

I agree with @Blastoise186 that creating a schedule on the charger could interfere with Charge Anytime. It could take priority over your charging and stop it from happening, as the charger and Charge Anytime would be conflicting with each other.

Howdy @Lyds4 !

I did some digging. You have a potential option here - flip on the anti-theft features like the (terribly named) Mini Advanced Car Eye Pro 3.0 thing or its “Sentry Mode” feature.

That might help - don’t mess with the schedules though!

Thanks for the suggestion, I don’t actually have the cameras or the sentry mode installed on my cooper. Its got the factory alarm and that’s it I believe

Ahh… Shoot… That was the easy fix…

You might be able to switch off some energy saving features to bypass the issue - not sure which ones myself but I’ll do some digging.
