Hi newbie here, recently acquired a RAV4 PHEV and wall charger. Wall charger is ABBA and is not compatible, but car is (Beta mode).
Now I pugged the charging cables into the wall charger and the car at 14.30 (last updated time stamp on the CA APP), It is now 1515 and the app is still saying car unplugged.
I had set it to charge by 1600 hrs to check so as to check the whole thing worked, but how do I know? the app says allow up to 30 mins for the car to send an update. but that time has been and gone, and nothing is happening.
no charging schedule in the car, none on the wall charged, just in the CA app? What am I doing wrong?
the car and the toyota app can communicate via wifi,
Cheers
Craig

Hey @aka Keith
It seems the message was automatically flagged as spam, apologies for that, I’ve rectified.
Hi, I tried earlier today, and did craft a response but it seem to be need to go to moderators and looks to have disappeared.
So tried resetting the “ready by time on the CA app. Waited 20 mins, plugged the car cables in. waited 90mins nothing happened(the CA app was still showing last updated some 90 mins previously and still saying that the car was unplugged) So authorized the charge on the Toyota app, and the CA app changed to smart charging. so it works in part - it appears to start charging as soon as you authorize it via the toyota app, rather than let the CA app control the charging.
This is helpful feedback, the team have advised that: We do expect a lower level of reliability with Beta trial vehicles. Their app 'last updated' some time a go. If it's not updated for that long I'd recommend they unplug the car, set a new Ready By time and wait 15 minutes before plugging it back in. But failing to charge in this instance does sound like the Beta trial Toyota just being slow to update us that the car is plugged in.
With Beta trial vehicles there often is teething issues but if you have any further problems, please reach out to the charge anytime team:
How to get in contact with the Charge Anytime team
Welcome to our community! I’ve added an EV badge to your profile.
We’ve got an article on how to complete the setup of Charge Anytime if you’re using a compatible vehicle. I’ve left it linked below for you:
If you’ve followed all the steps correctly to the best of your knowledge and it’s still not working correctly you can speak with our Charge Anytime team on 0330 175 9678 (option 2 existing customers) or chargeanytime@ovo.com. They’ll be in till around 5pm tonight so you might need to reach out to them before they close for the weekend.
A quick update, for anyone. Still waiting on the techs to come back to me on the ticket. But if I authorize the charge via the toyota app, the CA app sees the car charging and it looks like it controls it going forward. I don't know how I would see what is controlling what - if you know what I mean, but until the techs get back to me, it looks like I will be able to make use of the CA rate.
Hey, nice catch! Could you make sure to let the team know about that when you get chance? A quick email to chargeanytime@ovo.com should do the trick - let them know that you’ve got a case open and they’ll link it up for you.
I think it was Lexi on the phones today, but if you mention who you spoke to, that also helps a ton.
Hi, nothing from the tech so far. I tried setting the time on the CA app, and then authorising the charge on the Toyota app. It was at best patchy. Kept kicking the ca app out . The ca app put it scheduled charge time into the Toyota app which got very confusing and I got a lot of error messages.
As I was at home I could keep resetting it all. But I would not be confident in setting the ca app at the moment and expecting it to be ready at the ready time based on yesterday’s test. By the time of the ready to go time was hit, the car was only 80% charged
Ahh yeah… That sounds like one of the reasons it’s in Beta right now - unfortunately there will be bugs that could be showstopping but the team will no doubt want to squash those asap.

I’ll give the team a nudge internally @aka Keith & report back.

I set the Be ready time on the CA app for 1800 hrs today @ 1409hrs. (only need a small charge 25% - but seeing if anything has changed). plugged the cables into the car and charger @ 1425hrs. It is now 1541hrs, the CA app says last updated 1409, and it says the car is still unplugged.
