If you are an Ioniq 5 owner and on the charge any time trial… how is it going?

Hi @more-cheese-grommit,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you on the trial? If so, we’d love to hear more about your experience.

I’ve added a few extra tags on this thread so hopefully this will be easier to find for other EV owners. Hopefully more Hyundai Ioniq 5 owners stop by to also share their experience.

Had my ioniq6 since August and been really hit and miss sadly.

Up until this last week it hasn't been too bad prob failing too charge a couple of times.

This last week has been terrible.

The Hyundai integration is on Beta/Trial Status for this reason. OVO can’t currently guarantee 100% stability with it.

I realise it's on trial, I've read posts from a year ago stating it's on trial!

How long this "trial" period lasts is becoming concerning. Why can't ovo (like octopus do) have a tariff for all these "trial" vehicles which simply states that between certain hours it's the cheap rate and leave our cars/chargers to do the scheduling accordingly?

Trials usually last six months and then either get promoted to fully supported, remain in extended trial to bake for longer or (in rare cases) get terminated glares at FordPass.

Remember that the idea of Charge Anytime has the clue in the name - Anytime - and therefore needs to be able to run at the best times possible. Given they change daily, it’s not possible to just have it run at fixed hours. The cheap rate runs 24/7 because OVO is able to soak up cheap juice when there’s a surplus on the grid.

That does not work if you just set fixed hours.

Yeah it worked perfectly with my Tesla, just hugely frustrating currently and an added worry waking up every morning unsure if it's charged or not.

I'll persevere a little longer but if no improvement I'll move on.
