Hi I bought my Ohme charger in Dec. Just 6 months ago. It was supplied and installed by Ovo. When bought it was compatible with Charge Anytime.  I have 2 Questions.  1. I bought the Ohme in good faith from Ovo as it was compatible with Charge Anytime.  Will Ovo be providing me with a new compatible charger free of charge? 2. If no to above and I am forced to seek an alternative provider will Ovo wave the £95 early exit fee from my tariff?

Hey @Cdones26,

We're always working to improve your experience with Charge Anytime. We want to reward you for being an EV driver by bringing you even better features and the latest technology.

As part of these improvements, there will be a change affecting customers using Ohme chargers. From 15 July 2025, Ohme chargers will no longer connect directly to Charge Anytime. The good news is, we estimate about 75% of our Charge Anytime customer base has a compatible EV, so you may still be able to benefit from our low charging rates via your vehicle connection.

If you drive a compatible vehicle, you can follow the steps below to connect to Charge Anytime directly via your EV. You’ll need to check if your EV is compatible. If you have other vehicles, you’ll need to check those too.

This topic should help to answer some of your questions:

  • If you want to continue to receive EV charging rates we recommend that you check to see what other suppliers may be able to offer and if you can continue to connect via your Ohme charger.

If you’re not on a fixed plan & not in your renewal window you can switch to the simpler variable tariff.

  • If you wish to switch away we can offer to move you on to our variable plan to avoid being charged exit fees.

If you would like to stay with OVO until 15th July to benefit from the rates but would like to move to Variable from then onward you’ll need to call back on the 15th to get quoted variable prices.

i can see lots of complaints the to Ombudsman about this

a fundamental change in terms and conditions, and people purchasing products on their recommendation and then they move the goal posts

not very customer focused really.I get a new company car every 6 months. so October will be my next new one, so Ill also look to move provider at the same time as that is when the renewal is up.

Ovo you have dropped the ball here big time.

Ovo’s move away from supporting Ohme is a massive own goal and ad someone who fixed on a two year deal a short period ago in good faith I feel like they have kicked me in the teeth. I can charge the Tesla but my wife Jeep had two choices we move and change supplier or suck it up at standard rate for charging

Ovo you are truly a disgrace

“We're always working to improve your experience with Charge Anytime “                            This is their opening. How is only serving 75% of their customers improving things. We bought, through Ovo, an Indra charger last November and now we see charge anytime is not compatible with our Peugeot car. After only 7 months. We were not told about this in advance and have been using the charger overnight at the full rate. Come on Ovo at least you could offer to waive the leaving fee for those of us on fixed tariff so we can find a supplier that will serve us.

@daharrison If you have an Indra Charger, that remains fully supported with Charge Anytime - it was only Ohme that pulled the plug, no-one else.

So why does my car, Peugeot 208E, not appear on the list of compatible car makes?

When you integrate via a compatible Charger, you can charge any EV you want and get the Charge Anytime rate - including EVs that are not directly compatible. The fact your Peugeot isn’t listed becomes irrelevant in these cases.

If you don’t already use the Charge Anytime app with your Indra Charger, you need to grab that and set it up.
