Just read on another convo on here that OVO don't have a date for when the hypervolt charger will be ready for charge anytime.

Why is it even on there as an offering at the moment? People are probably getting that charger based on OVO saying this will be working by early 2024, it's still not working and there is not date for when it will be.

And having a compatible car doesn't save you either of it's a newer one, OVO seems to be quite slow with getting this sorted out.

All quite poor from OVO 8 thought.

We've been working with Hypervolt over the past few months to improve the Charge Anytime partnership with the Hypervolt Home 3 Pro and Hypervolt Home 3.0. The trial was a success, which means we are thrilled to officially launch this feature with full Hypervolt compatibility. You can take advantage of all the benefits of Charge Anytime with your Hypervolt charger.

See our full list of compatible EVs and chargers here.

It is clearly listed as not compatible yet. If you choose to buy anyway, that’s on you - especially as three other Chargers are listed as Compatible Now AND there’s a link to a list of Compatible EV’s that also work.

Full support for the Hypervolt is coming soon. I don’t yet have a date.

Caveat emptor, as they say, is definitely relevant here.

Already with OVO? Charge Anytime can be added to any OVO tariff for free. So you can benefit from a super-low EV charging rate with all our tariff options.

Not with OVO? You can still check your compatibility before you switch.

Thanks for the quick reply.

You haven't really answered my question though. OVO are telling people the hypervolt will be ready for early 2024 (I'm sure people have already purchased this charger based on what OVO have told them).

I think most people would agree that early 2024 has passed and there is still not even a date this is expected to be working. OVO could certainly do better here, give people a expected date or take it off as an offering all together so people don't make the wrong choice.

As for compatible EVs. Most on the list are 2022 models or older. My 2023 xc40 isn't on there. OVO say it's a Volvo issue and Volvo say it's an OVO issue (so I've read elsewhere on this forum) so as a customer what am I meant to believe, someone isn't telling the truth.

You risk putting yourself in a bit of a predicament if you take OVO at their word.

Early can also mean the first half, rather than the first quarter.

They should probably just be more careful with what they are telling their customers, it really wouldn't take that much effort to even just give an update. OVO are selling the charger as one that's going to be compatible with an open timeframe on when that will happen.

I might be able to see it differently if it was just on a list that will be compatible in the future, but OVO are actually selling it!

Seems a bit strange.

Well, in that case perhaps I should mention that you’re not currently talking to an OVO employee. I’m one of the Forum Volunteers here.

However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have magic tricks of my own. I’ve already pulled one off in the last 24 hours regarding Hypervolt. I have it on good authority that there will be updates posted on the Forum when a date is available.

The solution however, is pretty obvious and self-explanatory. If you want Charge Anytime via your Charger NOW, you should pick one of the three other compatible Chargers that are already supported.

I shall watch with interest. Thanks for the conversation.

So... Still no news at all on this? Seriously can't believe that

I have a Hypervolt charger and I received the information below in a recent newsletter from Hypervolt.

OVO Charge Anytime support

We have now released the beta integration of ChargeAnytime tariffs powered by OVO Energy. Customers can immediately benefit from this new integration, and save as much as £500 a year on their electricity costs, benefiting from 7.5p per kWh EV charging costs!

We are further happy to report we have worked very closely with the OVO and Kaluza engineering teams to add support for solar customers, and make sure your tariff correctly accounts for all solar generated energy that goes into your EV, maximising the benefit you get!

Our ChargeAnytime beta is now full, and we are no longer accepting applications, but we are delighted to report preliminary testing has gone well, with overall positive very feedback. After we tweak some final few items, we'll be aiming to release this to everyone as fast as we can!

Although this feature will initially work with our v3 devices, we are working to make v2 devices compatible by end of year.

However, if you do not wish to wait, we are offering existing Home 2.0 customers a discounted upgrade path to Home 3 Pro, that comes with a promotional 5 year warranty, if you choose to upgrade before end of July 2024.

I hope that it may be of some use to you.

Hey @Jesmond,

That’s a really useful update thanks for sharing it! I’ve reached out to the team to ask if we have any updates to share from our perspective. I’m just waiting on a response so as soon as I hear back i’ll come back with an update.

So... Still no news at all on this? Seriously can't believe that

@rossG It looks like Hypervolt have been working through applications for their beta program. They appear hopeful that things are going smoothly and they can release it from beta to everyone!

Great news, good to hear there is something actually happening! Hope they keep the momentum and the hypervolt will be on the list soon

Indeed, that is good news. We - as the Forum Volunteers - will also be keeping track of this alongside the Forum Moderators because this’ll open up a lot of currently blocked setups.

Just a really quick heads up though - nothing bad (promise!). Once Hypervolt support becomes official, it may take a little time for us to catch up and update all the references across the Forum - and there’s a LOT of them! - and for OVO to update the official list so please bear with us in that regard. If you do spot any outdated ones after the official launch, feel free to post here on the Forum and we’ll see what we can do. :)

We’re very excited for Hypervolt to launch as it means we get to make some exciting new content for the Forum to go with it! 🎉

Hey @rossG & @Jesmond

Just checking in to ask if you’ve had the time to check out our new Hypervolt post since it went live? Let us know your thoughts 😊

I currently have a BMW iX3 that is compatible with Charge Anytime. I also have v2 of the Hypervolt charger.

I know that Hypervolt will eventually make v2 compatible but unless there will be any significant differences then I shall leave things as they currently are and continue to let the very good BMW app and the CA app work together.

Good to see Hypervolt on board though.

There’s also a Hypervolt V3 in OVO’s Smart Meter Lab right now. I think they’ve been having fun with it for testing stuff as it’s always powered up - I was in there the other day when we got to visit the Bristol HQ again.

I've been signed up for a few day now. I was going to give it a longer test period before posting about it.

So far so good though 👍

Hey @rossG

Glad to hear things are going well so far!

Feel free to pop back with any questions or even insight from how you get on - I’m sure our other users would love to here how you get on after a while.🙂
