I have an Indra Smart Pro charger which I can control using the Indra Web app. I recently installed the Charge Anytime app and connected it to my car. Both are based on Kaluza but are seemingly different, although they both claim to charge at the times electricity is more renewable.
If I set a different "ready by" time in each, which one wins?
I've also plugged in my car this evening, and the Indra app says it's plugged in but not yet charging, and the Charge Anytime app says the car is unplugged! I need the car to be charged by the morning so I'll have to keep my eye on that. I've also noticed that I've not had any data from the smart meter since Thursday morning so perhaps that has something to do with it?
The Charge Anytime app is used for direct to vehicle (D2V) control. Where a customer has an eligible vehicle but does not have an eligible charger, they should use the D2V app.
Where a customer has an eligible charger (regardless of whether or not their vehicle is eligible), they should use the charger app, so in this case the Indra App.
The difference between the two at the moment is that the D2V customer will see savings in their D2V app, whilst the charger customer can see savings in a page called “Your EV” in the My OVO account.
If a customer has an eligible charger and has downloaded the D2V app, they are likely to be setting schedules in multiple apps which will cause a conflict in commands being sent to charge the battery. As a result they may miss their ready by times and will probably not be able to reconcile their Charge Anytime credits.
For anyone else wondering about Charge Anytime, look no further:
I did actually manage to get my charger linked now so it shows like this:
However, we have just received our monthly bill covering the time to last week, and there is nothing on it that shows the reduced rate for my last charging session which was on 26th or 27th June. Also, when I try to click through the “see My OVO” it is just going to a blank page at https://account.ovoenergy.com/my-ev (this is after logging in to our OVO account).
Sorry about the delayed response, I got an update from the team:
If they've successfully linked their EV they should see the 'My EV' section in the menu at the left on their online account. If the charger hasn't been linked successfully I'd recommend them to go back to the offers section and select charge anytime and go through the set-up process again. If they're still having issues then they should email us with some screenshots of any problems they are having when setting up Charge Anytime.
It appears to be Firefox blocking certain 3rd party URLs that are present on the page. If you use Chrome it works fine.
OVO should think about improving how this page appears in FF as this has been the case since launch, although I guess the actual reason why the URLs are blocked is genuine, it's just part of their security regime. The page renders but is just shown as blank which is quite confusing.
The selection of ‘how to use’ is down to using a compatible charger or compatible EV.

I have the Indra Smart Pro too, and am currently using the Web 'app' to control it. It's ok, gets the job done, but lacks lots of the nice features of the proper app, I think.
Indra seem to me to be dragging their heels making the app compatible with Charge Anytime - I've been using it this way since April, and they had hinted to me back then in Tech Support emails that proper app integration was coming soon.
Very useful info, and I didn’t realise the Indra app is not compatible with Charge Anytime, which explains why the installer asked me to use the website.
I am nearly 80and not at all good with technology. I have an Indra Smart Pro charger which was set up by Indra and they sorted out password etc.
I set everything up on the web site and not the app as instructed , it did seem a bit odd but it works. You programme the required time you require the vehicle fully charged and that basically is that. Once you have applied to OVO for their charge anytime it works in conjunction with the web site.
The only other thing you need to do, if you have solar panels, is to set that on the web site.
if you get into trouble the Indra team are very helpful and will talk you through any problems on the ‘phone, and yes a real person is on the other end.
im my case I did not have to set the timing etc in the car, only the amount of battery you want filled. It seems 80% is the norm but if I am embarking on a long journey I let it charge to100%.

Just one thing on the charge % @Nick Challacombe , the reason that 80% is a general default is that the batteries used don’t like to be ‘held’ at 100% for too long. Once in a while is fine but otherwise you would be shortening the battery life.
Glad to hear everything’s working well.😃 Feel free to pop back anytime, and if you’ve got any helpful hints and tips for others on their new charger journey, they’ll always be welcome!
I'm looking for a way to control the charging of my Peugeot e208. Annoyingly, it doesn't have the ability to set a % limit, and a 'normal' charge on Charge Anytime results in it charging to 100,%. I'd rather not do that - I'd ideally like to charge to 80%.
I may have found a workaround...
I can see in the Indra app that I can set a 'schedule' to make it automatically stop charging after it's delivered a user-selectable number of kWh, and this can be set to 'amytime' - so it's not a schedule in time, just in amount.
Would this work with Charge Anytime? I know timed schedules are not ok, but this isn't time dependent.
But it could have a simple 'add xx kWh if possible' setting. That would be sufficient for me to have at least a measure of control, and with a little maths keep the Peugeot in the ballpark of an 80% charge.

I've seen the blank page issue myself before.

I had the Indra Smart Charger installed today but have been advised not to use the app, but to utilize the web page instead.
The app would be more convenient to use, but I wonder if others using the Indra Pro charger have been told the same.
Also, should I install the Charge Anytime app, which I understand requires separate login details to my account?

Hello waiting on my first EV, AN MG4 and have ordered an indra smart pro for the charge anytime tariff.
Don’t have either yet but want to have all the info beforehand.
I now understand we need to use the Indra web app. When you open this it asks for your login but doesn’t offer opportunity to create one.
Do you create this on the Indra app then go back to the web app?
I also understand the charge anytime app will not be used for this setup.
If anyone has a step by step guide that would be really helpful?
I suspect the installer will help with creating the account. And you are correct, use the web app - NOT the mobile app!
Thanks for reply.
It seems a little over complicated, if your not so good with technology it could be a little to much.
It’s not too bad once set up. You then just have to set the schedule and the system does the rest.

Thanks for your help guys.
Can’t wait to ditch the petrol stations, I’m pretty sure over the coming years petrol prices will just keep going upwards much like cigarettes.

Sorry, did not make that clear, I do though when on a 300 mile journey top it up to 100% as I am then sure of finding a fast charger en route.
Today I finally got the Indra LUX installed. All is working fine, and here is a step-by-step list of what I did:
Do NOT install the Ovo Charge Anytime app.
Do NOT install the Indra app.
Call Indra customer service and they setup my account in the Indra web app. When the account was setup I received the welcome email from Indra.
Follow the link in the welcome email and setup a new password.
Log into Ovo and setup the Charge Anytime add-on selecting the Indra charger.
Follow the link to Kaluza and enter the same email and password used in the Indra web app (step 4).
Log into the Indra web app (https://app.indra.co.uk/login) to setup the car make and model and time when I want the car charged.
That’s it!!!
The car is already charging and I will check tomorrow that everything is OK
All worked fine, this morning the car was at the charge level specified by the time I set. Happy customer!
Glad to hear everything’s working well. Feel free to pop back anytime, and if you’ve got any helpful hints and tips for others on their new charger journey, they’ll always be welcome!

Anyone tried it?
Hah! I tried to create a test schedule, and it failed with an error message. So it looks like this won't work, sadly
You forgot one option - lobby Charge Anytime to include this feature in their app
Not possible when used in Charger Mode I’m afraid - the Charger almost never knows the State of Charge that the EV has at any given time.
Yes, I appreciate that.
But it could have a simple 'add xx kWh if possible' setting. That would be sufficient for me to have at least a measure of control, and with a little maths keep the Peugeot in the ballpark of an 80% charge.
