I’ve recently got the charge anytime app to charge my Lexus NX450h+. this is the Beta version which

I assume is on trial.I’ve noticed that the amount of charge given in the app doesn’t correspond with

my usage. IE on the most recent charge the charge anytime app says 6.1 kwh but on my bill the Kwh used for the same period was 8.66Kwh.From what I can work out so far is that the app is communicating with the car and not the charger {the charger is not a smart charger its an AAB wall box  fitted by B Gas on behalf of Lexus at a discounted rate].I’m wondering if the app only records

Kwh received by the car and not the amount of Kwhs generated through the charger.I haven’t had any luck trying to get help from OVO at the moment.

Hi, I raised a similar question a while back and one of the issues is that you’re converting AC to DC. Not sure whether this fully covers the difference you’re seeing, but I’m guessing it’s maybe around 90% efficient? Also I know that some cars take charge and use it directly for warming, pre-conditioning, and those won’t get added to you battery charge,  but still get charged by OVO.

hope this helps.

Download the OVO Charge app from the App Store or Google Play.

Hello @Crisco I would expect a small difference but that is bit too much to swallow, you weren’t cooking dinner at the same time were you 😊

Do you know how much the battery percentage went up. For example my bZ4X would have gone up roughly 9% for 6.1kwh

No, I’ve been making sure we’re not using anything other than fridge freezer during the charge. The Lexus is a plug in hybrid and when I plugged in before we got anytime charge I’d set the charge to start overnight and the in-house display would register anything up to 16kwh on the off peak rate. A I’m just baffled by the charge anytime app as it doesn’t match actual usage. It also seems to start and stop charging when it likes and I’m not sure that’s good for the battery.PS fridge freezer uses about .2 kWh so it’s not that.

Hello @Crisco I’m afraid there is not much you can do as it is the car that is declaring an incorrect low charge. OVO can’t see what you are charging. You could try asking the dealership if they have any way of testing and adjusting it.

It probably won’t be worthwhile to change the charger for a compatible model, but be aware that even then you could potentially see around 10% error.

Hello @Crisco Just read your first post again. You could try using the granny lead if you want to exclude potential effects from the wall charger.
