I’m just about to get my first EV (Xpeng G6) along with a Sync home charger. I note that on the OVO site that whilst the car is compatible to their charging option the Sync charger isn’t listed on their drop down list. Does anyone use the Sync charger with the OVO deal? If so any comments please.

Hi @Jonesrg50 and a warm welcome to the OVO Forum. I’ve awarded your EV badge so that other Forum members will recognise you.

As @Blastoise186 says, if you’d like to sign up to Charge Anytime you’ll need to go through the car, rather than the charger. If Sync chargers are ever compatible we’ll let you know! You can view the compatible chargers and cars here, and below is a guide for setting up Charge Anytime through your vehicle. Hope this helps! 👇

Howdy @Jonesrg50 !

I’m afraid we’ve so far seen no-one mention Sync chargers to date. However, if you have a compatible EV you can use that with CA regardless of the Charger. It’s always better to use a compatible Charger when possible though!

Thanks for reply. It’s a bit of a learning curve being new to EV’s. For some reason Octopus (my supplier) seem to say that the charger is not compatible for their low tariff Ev charging (even though the Xpeng car is). I can see that it’s not a problem with several others. When my car arrives next week and the charger is installed then I’ll make a change to OVO.

I've always advocated that the tech that you have invested in should guide your choice of supplier. It's up to suppliers to make their company attractive to as many users as possible by investing in compatibility with as much tech as possible.

I hope the move goes well.
