I have just joined OVO anytime as I recently bought a hybrid car. The battery capacity is 25.9 kw but I noticed the savings on the app were being reflected to around 18kw and on days I charged the car the daily energy usage costs were significantly higher than days I did not charge.

I called OVO and they had the wrong capacity stored on the system at 17.9kw. I supplied confirmation that my model had a 25.9kw gross battery capacity and 21.9kw net usable battery - they said the latter was the figure they should be using for calculating the discounted tariff.

This is incorrect as the previous battery on older models of my car was 17.9kw gross and 14.1kw net usable.

Maybe worth checking that OVO have the correct capacity stored for your vehicle so you are also not being over charged.

Not a great first impression of this company and still awaiting them to sort out the issue

Hey @Myles4320

In terms of your battery capacity is labelled as you were right to reach out to the team. It is definitely  normal for your usage to be higher on days you charge the car but the discount isn't applied until the end of the month to make the  EV charging usage cheaper.

Thank you for trying to help but you have the wrong end of the stick

The reason the electricity cost is higher on days I charge the car is because 8kw of energy being used to charge the car is not being attributed to EV use and the 7p / kw rate. I’m am being charged 24p / kw for a 8kw of the 25.9kw as the battery capacity is stated as 17.9kw.
If OVO change the capacity to the correct level 25.9kw then all will be sorted.
I have sent OVO the calculations over January so please can someone revert and confirm this is sorted by having the correct capacity entered for my car

thank you
