I have had Charge Anytime for a few weeks now, and other than an issue with Ovo displaying incorrect monthly £/kWh totals, it has been working great, until now!
Plugged in yesterday evening around 6pm, unplugged this morning to find it had not charged at all. Looking in the Ohme app it shows it was plugged in for the duration, but zero charging took place - which has caused a bit of an issue travelling today 😠
The schedule on the Ohme is set to smart charge to 100% by 7am, and has worked perfectly until now. Why did it not charge? Did Kaluza determine that there was no ‘green’ time to do it, so just did nothing? This is very concerning and raises serious questions about the smart charging concept going forward.

Ohme chargers will no longer be compatible with Charge Anytime. We’ve recently updated the technology behind Charge Anytime. This is so we can keep making improvements and create new products that reward customers for driving EVs.
It's not been possible to integrate Ohme with this new technology. If you have an Ohme charger you’ll still be able to sign up to Charge Anytime by connecting with an eligible vehicle. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility to more EV models so if you don’t see your EV here, keep an eye on our page.
You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.
Hi @simong@am84 thanks for flagging this.
The reason your EV didn’t charge was not because there wasn't enough ‘green’ energy on the grid. Charge Anytime should always prioritise fully charging the vehicle for the ready-by time.
For this reason, please contact the Charge Anytime team by:
Hi @Blastoise186 , it didn't sadly, just a cut and paste email suggesting checking I don't have scheduled charging set up on my car or charger (I don't), and to delete the car and update the app software (one of the first things I did/checked when it started playing up).
I’d respond to that so you can get past the initial questions, letting them know what you’ve done so far. Once you’re past that, it’ll probably get a better response.
Keep us informed here too - we’re watching this closely.
Same here. Since Monday, we have only had a few KWh each night meaning a panicked urgent charge is required when we wake up. The fact that same charging happens and that an urgent charge can be initiated from the Charge Anytime app does point to a problem within Ovo rather than the car or charger.
I reported this one Tuesday via phone and sent screenshots but have heard nothing back. Poor customer service!
Thanks Blastoise186. I will try calling the Charge Anytime team directly. We have Renaults and urgent charge always works immediately, which makes me think the API is ok
Definitely better than some other vendors then - Hyundai Bluelink is said to be absolutely terrible to the point where it constantly chokes just about every Smart Charging setup in Europe… And yet they can’t be bothered to fix it...
@Abby_OVO I got through to a very helpful person on your Charge Anytime team who found my email of 7th Jan and opened a ticket for further investigation. He said that you had several issues with car manufacturers and chargers, although no known issue with Renault. He also suggested that I delete my Charge Anytime app, delete the cars and set them up again. I tried this, but now the app says that I need to activate remote charging with Renault. It is already active - I checked this by looking at the services that I pay for at Renault and controlling the charging via the Renault app.
