Charge Anytime app not recognising that Porsche is plugged in?

I’ve just installed the charge anytime app, connected my Porsche app, but the charge anytime app won’t recognise that the car is plugged in. It shows the current charge level, and with each update, it goes up (as the car is plugged in and charging) but it won’t set a smart schedule because it doesn’t think the car is plugged in.
i have deleted the car and added again and also restarted the charger (not an Ovo compatible one but this isn’t a problem as the car is compatible?).
is there anything else I can try to get it working?

Hey @Suranovi

The team responded:

‘Hard to troubleshoot without customer details but it could be that the location is off in the Charge app. They could delete their account in the app then create a new account, where they'll be asked to set their charging location pin again. They need to make sure they zoom in as far as possible to where the car will be parked when setting the pin.’

If you’re still having trouble, please reach out to the Charge Anytime team for direct help.

Which Porsche model do you have?

My understanding is that currently the Porsche Taycan is the primary Porsche model confirmed to be compatible with OVO Energy’s Charge Anytime service. This includes various Taycan variants such as the Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo, and Taycan Cross Turismo. I may be out of date with this but OVO support should confirm.

Perhaps a call to the support line may help. If not, I can say that I had inconsistent results when I used Charge Anytime by reference to my EVs onboard capability. I used a Podpoint charger (not on the recommended list) as a conduit at the time. It was only after I junked the Podpoint and installed a recommended charger - an Indra in my case - that all the issues were resolved. I now have predictable and consistent results with the ability to monitor via the app and OVO charging hub.

You own a great vehicle. If the problem is not satisfactorily resolved I would go the recommended charger route and get OVO to install it so you can call them to account if there is not a satisfactory outcome.

Hi, it’s a taycan 4 cross turismo. It’s that the Ovo anytime app doesn’t think it is plugged in whereas the Porsche app correctly recognises that it is…

when I located the charger on the map I did so correctly (I think) but this is quite a distance from the smart meter - is this anything to do with it?
