Hi all,
Like many customers, I’ve been affected by the OVO-Ohme fallout.
I have the Ohme ePod, recommended and installed by OVO, and a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250e.
I've recently deleted my Ohme account and started charging via the Charge Anytime app.
Mercedes only have beta compatibility with the Charge Anytime app but OVO assured me that customer’s are using it without any issues.
My experience so far is concerning. As soon as I connect my car, it charges at full capacity instead of smart charging on and off throughout the night like Ohme did.
However, when it reaches 50% it stops and shows as complete. I go into the Mercedes me app and the vehicle settings have been changed from 100% to 50%. I change this back to 100% and it starts charging again at full capacity until complete.
When I look at the usage information, which isn’t at detailed as what Ohme would provide, it’s only showing that I’ve used 10 kWh and a have saved around £1.50. In reality, I’ve used closer to 16 kWh and should have saved around £2.60.
So the Charge Anytime app isn’t accurately recording my usage. I’m concerned that I won’t be credited the correct amount on next months’ bill. I’m logging everything as best I can and will present this to OVO if it all goes wrong.
As of last week, the Charge Anytime app hasn’t spoken with my car. So now when I connect it to the charger, it charges at full capacity to 100% as quickly as it can. My car is online and is connected both to my home WiFi and its own mobile data.
I have contacted OVO but haven’t had any response. It looks like they’re inundated with complaints and queries following the Ohme announcement.
What are other people’s experiences who are in a similar situation to me?
Can anyone offer reassurance or advice?
Download the OVO Charge app from the App Store or Google Play.
