How to refer a friend through the OVO app

We've launched a new refer a friend programme. It’s another way for us to reward our customers.

 

When an OVO customer refers a friend who switches to us, you both get up to £50 energy credit (£25 for single fuel, £50 for dual fuel) on your energy bill. For all details, check out the terms and conditions page here.

 

 

How does the scheme work?

  1. The referrer shares a unique link via the OVO app
  2. The referee signs up using that link
  3. You’ll both need to stay with OVO for 90 days
  4. Energy credit goes onto your bill automatically after the 90-day period is complete.

 

 

Key eligibility

 

The person referring will need to:

  • Be an existing OVO energy customer with a credit meter
  • Share their referral link via the OVO app
  • Stay with OVO until the energy credit is due

The referee will need to:

  • Be a new customer (not with OVO in the past 3 months)
  • Join through the personal referral link
  • Stay with OVO for at least 90 days
  • Have a credit meter (not Pay As You Go) and pay by direct debit

You won’t be eligible for the referral credit if:

  • The referral link wasn’t used
  • The referee leaves OVO within 90 days
  • Either the person referring or the referee leaves OVO before the credit date
  • You’re a PayG customer

 

The energy credit will only apply if the referral link was used, and both parties stay with OVO for the full 90 days.
