Apparently I didn’t meet the target in September, strange as was away for 2 weeks..
I was on holiday from 4th October till 26th October no one in the house. No heating on for 3wks, no cooking, washing or drying for 3 weeks and still never made the savings for October. September was similar with 2 weeks holiday no one in the house for 2 weeks.
Its not about reducing your overall usage but moving when you use it. So if you don't use much because you are away there is nothing to move so you won't reach the target.
If you had a totally flat usage profile for most of October, then you wouldn’t have used 13.5% or less power within the peak times.
It seems the smart meters are smarter than the readers at Power Move. I keep getting told my meters are not sending in readings so I can’t gain from Power Move. All they have to do is take a look at my account, just like I do regularly, and they will see lots of readings. Where do they find their employees?
That’s not how it works - it all runs on automated systems.
Try https://smart-meter-help.ovoenergy.com to get this fixed. That tool runs a bunch of diagnostics and then sends a report to the relevant time for analysis.
Like I said. There’s nothing wrong with my meters. They’re sending out readings just fine.

Hi
I assume you see 30min readings on this page every day

Did you try phoning ovo ask what they thought?
Yes but don’t worry. I’m not using any energy because I haven’t moved in yet. But I am still paying the standing charge. I just thought I’d get some sort of reward for not using any energy during the specified hours.
You don’t earn anything if you have a totally flat profile I’m afraid
Hi
Being away won't help but moving heavy usage tasks will. If you can avoid doing roasts on weekday evenings, do. Also, try to use the dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and iron on weekdays before 4 pm or after 7 pm instead of at the weekend..
Good luck,
Simon
It doesn't matter whether you are in the house or not u will still pay more money
Hmmm you’re not alone in seeing that message,
In December your average peak time electricity use was 20.26%. Unfortunately this means you didn’t hit the Power Move target.
Was on holiday the whole December month
Ovo move total Con
Jpe
If you were away for all of December, your usage would have been flat the entire time. It’s called OVO Power Move rather than OVO Power Shutdown because the idea is to use more during off-peak than peak. You get no reward for having a totally flat profile because you didn’t “move” anything.
Check your half-hourly data. That will show you the total used fire each eligible day and the amount used in the target period.
Have a chat with your fridge freezer… It probably kicked in at 4.01pm on weekdays just to screw you over!!
If you keep your fridge or freezer pretty full you can actually turn it off for a couple of hours with no degradation to the contents! My appliance specs state that my combined fridge freezer contents will survive a 6 hour power cut as long as I keep the door closed! I actually believe it as it takes almost that long to defrost it without assistance of a hairdryer! The only thing I no longer believe is the "frost free" claim. The manufacturers don't seem to have perfected that technology yet!
If you really want to beat it, get one of those cheaper timer plugs and time something fairly heavy to come on for a couple of hours each day…………….
The only month I failed was October when I was away for 17 days (only missed it by 0.06% - I wish I’d spent 2 minutes understanding what it was!). It’s harder to hit when you are away, because they want you to change patterns, and you can’t do that if you aren’t home!

Frost free is useless in a power cut, had one years ago, semi rural always getting power cuts, lots of food wasted. We didn’t even give the thing away, we took it to the local dump and got a proper fridge freezer that builds up ice and keeps food from thawing.
I am working away my house is empty yet they say I will not meet my power saving target on the email I just received so in other words this is just a scam they are pulling off here
Sigh… It’s not like we haven’t already answered this exact question hundreds of times...
This is NOT a scam. You’re simply not playing the game as intended.
To earn Power Move credits, you CANNOT just leave the house empty all month - you must move heavy usage out of peak slots and shift it into off-peak slots on the same day. Simply making all your usage all day flatline does not qualify because you didn’t MOVE any usage around.
The clue’s in the name: Power Move, not Power Shutdown.
