I actually had a reply last week from OVO stating they have no record of any information we have provided for this property at all nothing zilch so then I instantly rang them. I was on the phone for over an hour and it appears they have found all the references, all the serial numbers for the metres the meter readings that were supplied last year the and the proof of ownership that was in writing from the previous owner stating we now own the fit system and the heat pump as it was sold as fixtures and fittings and that was it. I’ve heard nothing else since this is only been going on now for six months. It’s getting ridiculous from multi national company the customer relations is laughable .

As we speak there have been two complaints gone in over the months and I have not received any reply for the complaints at all. I’ve lost all faith in OVO to be honest and part of me is saying just cut my losses and start again with another supplier but part of me is saying I’m   six months in and it can’t be much longer can it before the registration certificate come through. I really don’t know what to do at this point how hard can it be for a change of ownership when you buy a house with a fit system installed and supply everything that was asked for last year the communication I had last year was thank you Mr Bird everything is in order as we’ve got everything we need and It should be 6 to 8 weeks before your fit number is generated.  I am at a total loss with this I honestly feel stuck between OVO and plenty of other suppliers who would have delt with this within a few months . This experience with OVO has left me speechless. I’ve never dealt with such a poor structured multinational company in all my life.

I’m looking at moving house. The new house already has 4kW of solar panels fitted and was installed under the Feed in Tariff.

We want to move and stay with OVO, the new property is not currently with OVO. What is involved with transferring the FiT and getting the meter sorted with OVO.

Thanks for any info provided

Hi @CombTech , the relevant FIT registration does not have to be with the energy supplier of the property so it could be left as-is while you sort the move and energy swap (you will need to take the current supplier initially before swapping to OVO).

As for switching a FIT registration, this can be a little cumbersome (it’s not supposed to be), you would need to get the current company to register and agree a final figure which can then be transferred to the new FIT company.

Ofgem run the scheme

Just another quick note on this @CombTech , although I’ve had my Solar PV since installation, I did move my FIT export recently .. it took a few weeks but has been quite successful and worthwhile.
