We re-launched Anytime as Charge Anytime since this post was initially answered, check out more on our topic below:
You must have an eligible EV or Smart Charger, we’re constantly looking into ways to broaden eligibility. Compatibility isn’t just down to OVO, this can also be due to manufacturer limitations too, so keep an eye on our pages for updates of new tech being added!
Since 15 July Ohme chargers are no longer be compatible with Charge Anytime. We’ve recently updated the technology behind Charge Anytime. This is so we can keep making improvements and create new products that reward customers for driving EVs.
It's not been possible to integrate Ohme with this new technology. If you have an Ohme charger you’ll still be able to sign up to Charge Anytime by connecting with an eligible vehicle. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility to more EV models so if you don’t see your EV here, keep an eye on our page.
You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.
As the +Anytime option splits EV charging from home usage it needs to have a way of recording how much electricity is being used solely for car charging. Kaluza’s software also has to be able to work its magic using its AI algorithms to optimise when the car will charge, maximising the use of times of low energy demand. I’m sure further integration may well be coming soon as things develop, but it can be quite a big task to get everything working properly on a range of setups.
It’s the same reason that the Octopus Intelligent tariff is only currently supported for Ohme chargers or Tesla, Ford, Land Rover, VW and Jaguar cars at present. Of course, with this tariff you don’t generally get the option for charging during the day, which is the USP of +Anytime.
