I have linked my Q4 E-tron to the Charge Anytime app (bypassing the Pod Point app scheduling) but the CA App thinks my car is AWAY when its on the drive.  It can detect the car being charged but I cant find a way of adding my address to the App, although its linked to my OVO Energy account (I assume?).  How can I resolve please?

Hiya!

You can probably get the Smart Home Team to fix this. Send them an email via smarthome@ovoenergy.com and they’ll take a look

Yep good advice from Blastoise there, @Soo P.

Also this sounds similar to this one:

@Gary Alford what do you reckon?

Thanks @Blastoise186 and @Tim_OVO ; I had found @Gary Alford post but I cant recall seeing a map option when I set up the app.  Ive tightened up my HOME location on Google maps this morning as that had me living down the road slightly and assume that links with y Audi App, so if you can advise where I can access this other map then I should be all linked up! Thanks

No worries.

You may need to get the Smart Home Team to reset your account so you can update the map settings. They can do that for you!

If you need to re-set your location on the app, please contact the team at chargeanytime@ovoenergy.com

When you first set up the app you put in your postcode then drag a circle to the location of your house within that postcode. I guess it is possible that step got missed or flicked past.

Sadly once set up there are no options within app to reset or adjust. Hopefully these features will come.

I did contact the smart home support and after a few days got a message to say they will send a prompt to the app to reset home address. Lo and behold when I opened the app again it prompted me to set my home location and I got it right this time!!

Works like a charm now.

I think it’s to help prevent abuse by people constantly changing the location of their home address.

However, the rules do allow you to correct a legitimate and honest mistake while setting things up, which is why the team can reset it from their end. Juuuuuuust as long as you don’t constantly request it!

Thanks for your update and help.  When I opened the app this evening I was sent an address request  and location map and all sorted now!  Just waiting for the charger to kick in at some point tonight to make sure it’s  all charged for 6.20 tomorrow morning!
Thanks again.

Hi

I am pulling my hair out with a charge anytime issue!

I have a skoda enyaq iv 60. I have an Evec charger.

The charge anytime app is not recognising that my charger is plugged into the app.

However with my Evec app i can start my charge whenever i want. Consequently I'm having to pay the standard rate.

Can anyone help please 🙏?

Thank you. Hopefully I have the same issue and it can be resolved. I've persevered for a couple of days but getting very frustrated by it.

Thanks again

Hope so. If you get in touch with the team smarthome@ovoenergy.com it sounds like they might be able to help. Not sure why the original ‘home’ setting isn’t working

At the end of the day Soo P this Forum is super at sorting problems as you are actually asking someone who has the facilities to squirrel there way through to EV by sorting out the straw from the chaff. It is the only way to go, thank you background people on this site!

I have just purchased a new BMW 330e, I have registered for the Charge Anytime account and connected the car via the MyBMW app, however the Charge Anytime app does not detect when the car is charging and the OVO usage app is showing I am using 20KWh per day to charge the vehicle at a cost of £6.50 per day? How do I go about getting this fixed and my bill amended?

Hi @HazzSolo , not sure which charger you are using but there’s another thread here with some suggestions

it’s worth emailing the tech team smarthome@ovoenergy.com to check

I think the issue is that the OVO Charge Anytime app does not detect that I am at my home charging location as it always reads "Away from home".

Sounds like the app needs resetting, others have seen a similar effect. The home base setting needs to be fairly accurate

Hi All, yesterday for some reason the OVO charge anytime app can’t see my car. First time it’s happened

logged out and back in again and nothing.

downloaded and logged in on my wife’s phone and I can see it’s communicating with her Charge anytime app.

any ideas?? When I logged in on hers it asked me to connect via Kaluza, not had that option for my phone

Hi @andy.brown21 , what’s your set up (charger/EV) - just in case there’s something already reported elsewhere?

Hey @andy.brown21,

Any update on this? Have you contacted the smart home email address?

I know it’s compatible but has anyone got a solution to the connection issue? The app still can’t see the car

Hi @samnix , what exactly does the app report? Is the vehicle not ‘at home’ or something else?

Continually says it’s trying to locate the Volkswagen

The car is in the home location

Previously my car registered at home but now it’s saying it is away from home when charging (it isn’t) - I’ve emailed the chargeanytime@ovo.com email address but it is there a way to get the location reset in my app fast tracked?

Hi @huntovo ,

That’s the fastest way as it goes direct to the right team.

If you’d like to private message me with your email address I can see if I can give the team a little nudge 😊
