For the Charge Anytime app to work correctly, your charger needs to provide continuous charge to your vehicle. If it doesn’t, it can affect the smart charge schedules sent by the Charge Anytime app.

The Charge Anytime app calculates a new smart charging schedule for your car every time it’s plugged in at home. It sometimes requires the vehicle to start, stop, and restart charging to help balance the local electric grid and make the best use of green and surplus energy.

When Charge Anytime stops charging your EV to help balance the grid, the Project EV charger thinks that the car is fully charged. This means that when Charge Anytime goes to resume the charging schedule, the Project EV charger doesn't provide any power to your EV.

We’ve noticed an issue with Project EV chargers. After a long period of inactivity, the Project EV charger stops offering power to the EV. This interferes with Charge Anytime schedules.

We’ve raised the issue with Project EV, and they’ve said that the latest firmware should solve the issue.

Unfortunately, this hasn’t worked for some customers.

What to do if you’re still having issues:

We noticed fewer issues for customers who plug in the EV later in the evening – closer to their ready-by time. That’s because there are fewer and shorter gaps between charging intervals, which may mean the Project EV charger doesn't stop powering your EV when it's inactive.

We know that this incompatibility can affect your vehicle's day-to-day use. Our engineering team is working hard to find solutions for Charge Anytime with Project EV chargers. If the above workaround isn’t helping, as a last resort, we suggest that you delete your Charge Anytime account via the account page in the app.
