Question

new Audi Q6 eTron not charging as expected with Charge Anytime

Forum|alt.badge.img

Got this car in Feb. Having major issues charging. If I leave the car plugged in it will not start charging as expected when the smart charger sends the signal to start. The only way I can get it to work is by unplugging in the middle of the night and connecting it again.

Have checked the software on the Audi and MMI saying car is on the latest version.

Had a Lexus UX 300e which worked fine before I changed car. So would say not my smart charger or it’s connection to WiFi at fault.

is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Thanks.

Howdy @Gary_M ,

Sounds like this could do with the Charge Anytime team digging the logs. Please contact them via 0330 175 9678 or chargeanytime@ovo.com .

Thanks!

Morning @Gary_M,

Sorry to hear of the issues you’re experiencing. If you’re charging via a Charge Anytime compatible charger please email chargeanytime@ovo.com and let them know your issue, and your charger make and model.

If you’re signed up to Charge Anytime through the vehicle, rather than a compatible charger, then this is the current advice from Charge Anytime:

Unfortunately this issue is something that we do see with Audi, along with BMW, where customers have a Charge Anytime integration set up directly with their vehicle through the Charge Anytime app.

Audi and BMW are aware of the issue, but OVO does not communicate with the manufacturer directly; we instead deal with the company that makes the charging software for these vehicles.

We can only hope with the consistent feedback we are passing along, that the manufacturers software does allow a more seamless connection in future.

In the meantime the team at OVO are working endlessly on creating greater compatibility across a wider variety of EV chargers, but until such a time comes, when either is achieved first, we’re afraid this is how Charge Anytime will have to work. We know this isn’t ideal, but there is nothing else that can be advised at this moment.

Hope this helps!
