Question

closing balance in credit

I’m a payg customer and I received my closing statement today which says my closing balance is in credit by £4000, does this mean I will be given a cheque for this much?

thanks

Hi @samanthawilkinson94 ,

Strictly speaking it’s normally impossible to have a £4,000 credit balance on Pay As You Go. Are you SURE you are/were using Prepayment Meters?

This is what the pdf says that was attached to my closing email

Hmm… I’ll need to run this past the Forum Moderators…

Please bear with me.

Is the property empty?
I ask because £14.84 for 28 days looks like only the standing charge with no actual usage.

If it’s been empty only for the last month or so then the bill above doesn’t tell us much - ie. it doesn’t tell us where such a large credit on 20th Feb came from.

Hey @samanthawilkinson94

It’s probably best to check in on this with the Support Team, we don’t have access to accounts to check refund status’ etc or that all of the billing details are correct.

As Blastoise186 mentioned, it’s quite a large credit refund, I think checking with the Support Team will be the next best move.

Refunds from Pay as you Go accounts would typically be done by cheque, but as it’s so large it’d be good to check that detail with the team.

Let us know how you get on.

The property is not empty, however I was being charged an extortionate amount of money a month for me and my 2 children under 8 , I think I will just wait for the cheque to come through

Thanks guys
