If I switch to a cheaper payg supplier on smart meter does the current credit move over

or rigmerole of getting money back? (and having to fund the reset / new provider current meter in the mean time!)

Hi @Fuzzycat

Generally speaking, the meter credit gets wiped and refunded via cheque. That’s because it can’t be transferred between suppliers.

hello, was hoping being smart it would be kerfuffle free as they have historical usage data / readings  to simplify switching.

That’s just how it is I’m afraid. It’s because the credit on the meter was paid to Supplier X so Supplier Y can’t make use of it under any circumstances.
