Are OVO obliged to replace non functioning IHD (pipit 500) and if so who do I contact as they don’t seem to answer emails?

Unfortunately energy suppliers are only obliged to offer a 12 month guarantee.

ivie bud or Hildebrand Glow IHDs are both good replacements. I’ve used both but eventually stuck with the Glow coupled with the Bright app. My unit was pre-set from my Bright account and so it was just a case of switch on and connect Wi-Fi

It's also worth noting that the Secure Pipit 500 has reached End of Sale. Secure no longer makes them so a like-for-like swap is no longer available

Same here, must be some waiting list, as I raised the issue over a year ago. I keep getting fobbed off whenever I raise a stink about it. Considering the the IHD they initially supplied me never worked out of the box, it’s a bit of joke they can’t replace it.


It’s a combination of a waiting list, lack of options for S1 and massive demand for S1 capable IHDs I’m afraid.
