Is a VCHRD Seven EV home charge ok for a New Tesla Y?

Hello, I am about to become an EV owner for the first time with a Tesla Y and looking for affordable EV home charger options.  Looking at a VCHRGD Seven and wondered if this is ok? Tesla keep telling me go Tesla as better but is it actually?

Also don't fully understand how Tesla / EV home charger apps integrate with each other so is that where I might get a more seamless service i.e. Tesla with Tesla or doesn't it make much difference in practice?

Hiya!

I’m not OVO staff as I’m just a forum volunteer.

From what I understand, the EV and Charger don’t really know what’s plugged in the other side and are blind to each other, so that doesn’t really matter much. Ultimately, it’s the same power at the end of the day!

If you wanted to get OVO Charge Anytime with that setup, your Tesla will be compatible via Direct-2-Vehicle Mode. I’m afraid that VCHRGD Chargers aren’t compatible but that won’t be a problem in your case.
