If you rent a home personally between family and you can't control who enters the home or when and how they use your utilities, how do you deal with financial abuse from these people?

I have 40 year old something person who is granted access to the property via the landlady and I cant get her to pay towards her usage when she's here (a daily fee). They also use emotion blackmail to get away with it.

Is there a better payment scheme other than direct debit that gives me full control over these matters?

Hi,

Unfortunately, we can’t provide legal advice here and your question sounds like it really could benefit from legal advice from a qualified lawyer or solicitor. You might want to consider contacting Citizens Advice about this.

Other than that, I’m afraid I can’t think of any better payment option than Direct Debit under the circumstances. It’s cheaper than other methods and ultimately, you probably won’t want more than one person being financially liable at a time anyway.
