I’m about to get a battery installed but I won’t be getting solar at the same time. The export meter seems to be associated with the solar, so that’s not coming yet. I could however charge the battery at off peak import rates and export at high peak rates, not with OVO unfortunately but Octopus do offer this...
+5For that type of export, it’s usually recorded by your smart meter. Can’t remember which meter you have installed but there should be an export register.
You will need them to set up an export MPAN if it’s not already recorded as that is different to the import MPAN and needed for an export account.

Octopus sorted mine but I think either can apply. It has to be done via your DNO and they will want details of the installation to register .. so I don’t think you can do it in advance
You should be able to see the export register from the commands
