Can my smart meter display my solar panel export amount?

Have recently had solar panels installed and although I can check how much I am exporting via the main electricity smart meter I cannot see how I can see this info on my smart meter display - apparently I should see a pylon icon - have I got an old display (photo attached).

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. So have checked my main electricity meter and it’s says that I have exported 700+ kWh so far - so not sure how to go about getting the smart display to register this? Is this something I need to speak to OVO about. My SEG is with EON. Thanks.

I don’t believe the export signal is something that can be enabled if it isn’t already configured. The communication is via the comms hub which is the responsibility of the DCC (smart meter data centre) and not your supplier.

Hi @BPLightlog thanks, any idea who I would need to speak to so I can resolve this. EON said that I would be able to view my export via the smart display it’s not easy to access my meter.

From what I’ve seen, most IHD’s (In home displays) can’t show export data - even when technically capable.
Your solar inverter monitor should be able to show export data but apart from that it tends to get a little complicated unfortunately .

Our volunteers have left some really helpful advice on this already, but the following topic may also be helpful:

Hi @Dave Stafford ,

That’s a brand new Chameleon IHD7, the latest model from Chameleon. It does support tracking Exports, but will only do so while Exports are actively taking place.

Hope this helps!

Having spoken to Chameleon about this while trying myself, I can tell you that it will also depend on how your meter is set @Dave Stafford . Some don’t report export on the SMHAN that the IHD uses
