Can anyone tell me the E10 times?

Generally it’ll be one hour later in Winter. Smart Meters run on GMT 0 all year round and don’t change their clocks for British Summer Time.

That’s what I thought but this page on the OVO site seems to say that in Scotland (MPAN 17) the times  are the same for GMT and BST unless you have a PAYG meter. So I was interested if someone who had just had a new meter fitted on E10 could verify this. 

It’s only Trad Prepay that do that - Smart Meters remain on GMT all the time.

Nope, they are correct. Just needs a note added for this purpose, easy fix.

They do for Traditional Meters.

So what times would apply to me then when I get my smart meter?

Errr … are you sure about that? My E7 offpeak hours have just changed from 01-08 to 00-07 for the winter. I’d call that an hour earlier.

Plan timings are specified (really confusingly in JS) as either GMT:!0 or GMT:!1. My own are shown as GMT:!0, meaning (perhaps) not false. So they stay on GMT all year round and shift with the kitchen clock twice a year.

I see that some E10 times are shown as GMT:!1, meaning (again, perhaps) not true. I’m still waiting for one of the luckier Northern Scottish THTC>E10 migrants to tell us what (if anything) happened yesterday. Perhaps they’ve been put on the plan that has (GMT:!0) offpeak times “All days 0000-0500, 1300-1600, 2000-2200”, shifting with BST. I’ll be happy to be proved wrong!

Just a note about the page referred to above: as usual with OVO help articles, it’s not dated, so we’ve no idea whether it’s current or not. @Emmanuelle_OVO  may have consulted the horse’s mouth to find these timings.

There is also the question of the meter’s randomized offset, which could theoretically be 30 minutes. So a customer who sees his tariff change at ~13:30 might be seeing a change nominally timed for 13:00. ALCS load switching might be set to different times, just to confuse matters even more, e.g. if a customer is relying on the IHD’s red traffic light to tell him when the switch happens.

I don’t unfortunately although logically that should be the case. 

Yes, that does complicate things but that’s why the separate circuit switch should automate everything connected to it while needing a visual alert for external circuits
