‘Upgrades’ is a slight billing misnomer for features that cost, separate from fuel costs and VAT. I have one: a small monthly contribution to the OVO Foundation.

I can’t be certain, but I’m fairly sure that hitherto the cost of this ‘upgrade’ was added on the opening day of the current period to the ‘Other charges’ section of the billing details for my account:

I’m still not seeing it, on 8 August.

Can anyone else with a chargeable upgrade see it now? I’d like to know if this is a global change (e.g. shifting it to the Direct Debit date), or whether it’s just my blighted account that’s acting up again.

Hi @Firedog,

That’s strange.

It may be worth reaching out to the Support team to ask about this. If they’re unable to give an explanation, I’d be happy to look into it further for you.

It’s not worth spending time on. It’s notable that the upgrade is still in force (well, it says so on my Plan page) and the DD calculator assumes it’s already been paid this month. If the date has been moved, the DD calculator needs updating to take that into account.

Apart from that, it’s always nice to be told when something changes so we don’t have to clog up the forums asking whether any change we noticed was intentional or not 🙂

Just to wrap this up: the charge for the OVO Foundation donation appeared on the billing details page today, 12 August.

I’m still wondering why it wasn’t applied on the 1st of the month as usual, so I’ll see what happens next month.

Yes, keep us posted @Firedog, that does seem unusual.

Right - not exactly on the first of the month (a Sunday), but this time on 2 September. I’ll make do with that and assume that last month’s aberration was just that.

1 October is a Tuesday ...
