Hi guys,

Im pretty new to the EV world, a week to be precise! I used a charger outside my house via OVO bonnet that required a £30 holding deposit, i have used the charger on the 24th, 25th and 29th of may and have yet to see any of my deposits returned. Could anyone possibly point me in the right direction please.

Hey @Jack Pot ,

It may take a few days to drop those holds, try giving it a bit more time.

If needed, you can chat with the team via Live Chat at https://www.joinbonnet.com/ - they’ll be back online in about an hour or so after I post this.

No worries, you’re most welcome.

Also, I just checked with the team for this one - just to be 100% sure!

Here’s the response from the OVO Charge/Bonnet team:

Alright, that's an easy one 😊

The prepayment of £30 is always taken when you attempt to charge, it is then used towards the charging session's consumption, so for example, if your charging comes to a cost of £12 in total, you get the £18 refund.

If the session gets more expensive than £30, we keep the prepayment and collect the remaining amount to match the spend.

If the session doesn't start, the prepayment gets back to you within 2 hours from the collection.

Although I would recommend the user to get back to us directly in the app, so we can check if everything worked as intended.

If I can help with anything else, feel free to post on the Forum again and either myself or one of the other Forum Volunteers will swing by. Bonnet’s team are also on hand 8am to 8pm if you need them for anything. :)

Ok yeah, definitely chat with the Bonnet team via the app in that case - they’ll dig into this one for you!
