I’m currently benefitting from Charge Anytime tarrifs on my Renault Zoe natively supported by the Renault-provided BP charger.
I’m thinking of changing my car soon to one not listed as compatible by Ovo. Will I have to replace the charger with a ‘smart’ one, like the Ohme ePod, to continue using Charge Anytime?

Since 15 July Ohme chargers have no longer been compatible with Charge Anytime. We’ve recently updated the technology behind Charge Anytime. This is so we can keep making improvements and create new products that reward customers for driving EVs.

It's not been possible to integrate Ohme with this new technology. If you have an Ohme charger you’ll still be able to sign up to Charge Anytime by connecting with an eligible vehicle. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility to more EV models so if you don’t see your EV here, keep an eye on our page.

You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.

Thank you, but I said “to one not listed as compatible by Ovo”

CA is either compatible EV or compatible charger

Hi @Nosmarb , if your next EV is compatible with charge anytime you won’t need to change your charger.

How do OVO know what my EV Charge is? I have a plug in to the domestic supply not a dedicated charger.

Hi @Gorsvegasboyo ,

Charge Anytime only works if you have a compatible vehicle or Charger.

What vehicle do you have?

Hi Thanks for your reply

I have a Renault Captur Engineered Hybrid. I have software that tells me exactly what I use in minutes. At 2.3 Kw per hour

It appears your specific vehicle is not compatible with Charge Anytime because it’s the E-TECH version. You’ll need a dedicated Charger if you want to get the Charge Anytime rates.

https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/smart-charger has a couple of options, but you can also look at the Andersen A2, Andersen A3, EVEC VEC01/VEC02/VEC03 or Nexblue Edge/Nexblue Point.
