Please could you update the Anytime Charging online registration to include the BMW I5 model.  I am advised by BMW that it works off the same Operating System as the I4 and I7 models which are on the OVO registraion page and therefore the I5 model will also be compatible with the Charge Anytime App.

Hi @EVchargingI5

Welcome to the customer forum, I am just a customer like you.

Your best bet is to email your request to the anytime team else it may never get picked up

Hi there evchargingi5. Did you get anywhere with this.
where I called charge anytime they were out able to give any update.  I was told only ohme or Indra would work.

Hi @EVchargingI5 @Stevenlevy

Let me put this to the Charge Anytime team and see what they say. There might be some extra context behind why one BMW model isn’t eligible vs another...

Many thanks

Hi @EVchargingI5 @Stevenlevy - we hadn’t forgotten about this.

Kaluza who are the technology company that own the Flex technology that powers Charge Anytime have confirmed the i5 is not supported, based on an extensive list that covers many specific models and versions of each electric vehicle type. That’s at the time of writing. To keep up to date on the latest, I would use this eligibility page

Just to let you know I5 works.
just make sure you have the i5 on your my bmw app

then select a different car from the drop down

and it will find it.

Thank you for that feedback, I’ll go back to the team and let them know @Stevenlevy

it was charge anytime on the phone who suggested that i tried a different vehicle

i will update once i complete a charge

I dont see the i5 on the drop down list on the Chargeanytime APP?

Having contacted OVO via EMail, they advise to use the i4, as the car has the same operating system as the i5.

BUT, I have other issues. I have a Podpoint charger which, as per the BMW App, allows either time set charge (start and end time) or manual charge. The time set options don’t work - they don’t appear to be compatible with the settings of the Charge anytime app, which doesnt have a start charging time optiopn and just has  the ready by time option. When setting the BMW and Podpoint Apps to manual charge and the ready by time set in Charge anytime, the charge started (last night), but then randomly stopped after a couple of hours.

The alternative option of setting a start and end time on the BMW and Podpoint Apps, and a ready by time (same time as set in the other two apps) on the Chargeanytime App, doesnt work at all.

So far I’ve only been able to charge the car fully once, by setting BMW and Podpoint Apps to manual charge and the Charge Anytime App to urgent charge and hence no benefit of reduced tarrif from OVO.

Anybody got any insight or useful advise on how to overcome this?

My experience similar to you.  Set pod pin t to manual.  Choose a different car in the list

pre conditioning will not work.  But charge anytime charges

the way charge anytime works is it starts and stops until it is ready   So that is normal what you are saying

I have an ix3 which is on the list and am i5  both work this way

when you add the i4  it then asks you to log in to bmw app  which then finds the car in that app and ignores the i4 you selected

small sacrifice for cheap electricity

Just an update.  When  tried to charge the car it said it was unplugged I had to re add the car to make it work through charge anytime.

I have to add a car

log in to bmw app

then it showed  the car then it worked with charge any time.
