Hi @RobG-Reading , You can normally add more than one EV for Charge Anytime from within the Charge Anytime app. Under ‘connected cars’ you should see the option to add another vehicle at your home location.
Is that option available to you?
Hi @BPLightlog, yes the option to add a second car is available but when I try to add a second Tesla it says Charge Anytime can only be connected to a single Tesla app account. Since the second car will be a lease car then I’m not sure how this will work. I’m hoping that if my existing Tesla account is added as a driver of this leased car then Charge Anytime will be able to connect in the same way as if I owned the car. Hopefully someone with a lease car will know as many Tesla cars must be on lease schemes.
Hiya!
Just checked with the Charge Anytime team. This should work fine as long as the existing Tesla account/app can be added as a driver of both Teslas. They don’t have to be the “owner” as such iirc - as long as you’re authorised. Make sure the SAME Tesla Account is linked to both Charge Anytime and ALL Teslas you want to use Charge Anytime with.
Please talk to the lease company if you need help to get added/authorised - they should be happy to add you to it.

I’d also chat with Hypervolt too - they did have a pretty sweet V2 → V3 hardware upgrade deal on offer that might still be active.
Hi @RobG-Reading,
It seems some good advice has already been given here by our forum volunteer Blastoise.
Please let us know how you get on.
Hi @Blastoise186 and thanks for checking with the Charge Anytime team. That’s good to know and I’ll look forward to checking this out when we pick up the Model Y later this month.
On the Hypervolt, as I don’t have solar I can’t really justify the upgrade as I’m not currently using any features of the charger. I’m sure it’s nice to have the newer hardware but not yet necessary.
Hi @Blastoise186,
I’m just getting back to you to confirm this works as you described. Once I was added as a driver of the second Tesla, I just needed to authenticate my phone with the car in AnyTime which I assume gives it access to this particular vehicle. The car is then listed as one of two cars connected to my Charge Anytime app/account.
Now any registered driver can just plug in their car assuming the one home charger is free and charge their car. Charge Anytine is set to 100% charge and to be ready by 6am so any driver can just sets the charge limit required on the specific Tesla using the Tesla app. Sharing one charger might be an issue but generally alternating evenings should be fine and the flexibility of charge Anytime means we could charge, as the name suggests, at anytime.
Thanks for your input on this,
Hey, nice one - thanks for confirming!
We’re here if you ever need us for anything else. But if you fancy it, feel free to hang around and help out. We can’t pay you in cash but Forum Volunteers get extra access to information and some other cool stuff. We’re also working on a proper rewards system which will hopefully add some value to make it worthwhile.
Oh, and we’ll also give you a few extra forum permissions to make life a bit easier once you’ve been around for a while.
If you’re interested in knowing more about this, let me or a Forum Moderator know. :)
Hi @RobG-Reading,
Thanks for coming back to us with an update on this.
Glad to hear Blastoise’s advice worked. This will be useful for others who may be going through the same thing.
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with.
