Hello,

I have just been trying to top up my Smart Meter on the computer in my local Library.  When it got to check out it froze for ages so I logged out tried another computer.  Same thing.  I tried on the app and it went through and tried the same website on my phone and it went through.  I thought it might have been their computer or WiFi but I used their WiFi on my phone.  Can I ask it wasn't a problem with the computer, website or WiFi so I was wondering if OVO blocked me making a payment because I was using a public computer?  This was my first time topping up on a public computer.

Welcome back @hallj12345 ,

I don’t think so. It’s more likely the fact that libraries lock down their public computers and Wi-Fi to excessive extents these days that it can choke a lot of stuff. I suspect that’s what happened here. Not much OVO can do if it is the case I’m afraid.

Source: I’m a volunteer at a very large library in the UK and I know their systems like the back of my hand.

Hello thanks for your reply.  That is strange as I sometimes pay my rent and other things there if I am passing.  It's never been a problem.  There is a cog wheel symbol that usually goes round when processing the payment.  They were just frozen.  Lady in the library said they had been having problems with some of the computers so I don't know.  Tried other websites and there doesn't seem to be an issue.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like an issue with the venue rather than OVO. It’s… Complicated...

Thanks for your help.  Might try again sometime when they are not having issues.

No worries. If it keeps happening, give us a shout. I might be able to get it flagged for attention if things keep breaking.
