OVO can't do my charger installation, who should I pick for my EV Charger installation?

Hi there, 

 

I have an MG ZS and I’m looking to have a home EV charger installed.  I can’t do it via OVO as the installer would have to use a ladder to access my electric board, which seems bizarre!  Anyway I’m looking to install a charger and then use OVO EV tariff.  I’m very new to this and have a few questions. 

  1.  Firstly, OVO bolt on appears to be not available on the web?
  2.  Can I use any EV charger or just Indra or Ohme? 
  3.  If so, does anyone have a view on which is better Indra or Ohme? 
  4. Does anyone recommend an installer for Ipswich?

Hi Jane,

 

I like you am a customer of OVO and I am on Charge anytime.

My Charger is an Indra Smart PRO charger bought from Indra Renewable Technologies,

 tel 01684 770 631 , it was fitted by chargedev who then look after it via an app. (Kaluza)

 

In full answer to your question,

1 , I do not know what OVO bolt on is.

2, As far as I understand Indra work very closely with OVO and Ohme is at the moment the only other charger which works with their systems, other may think differently on this forum. I am quite happy with Indra and their service.

3, I cannot help you, I chose Indra after a little research as they were recommended by OVO

4, I am in Bury St Edmunds and the installer who works for chargedev locally came from Suffolk.
