Hello, I am currently with British gas and Economy pay as you go meter with ofline recharge with the key provided. I would like to switch the provider to ovo energy with economy 7 supported meter with online topup option(smart meter). Is it possible?
I tried calling the customer care and they told they aren't accepting economy 7 customers as of now.

Sorry to hear you’re having issues,
Unfortunately OVO pay as you go aren’t taking on any new customers currently.
The reason being, due to high wholesale prices, they can’t offer a competitive deal currently.
Boost are taking on new customers, including Economy 7, however you’d need to call and request this over the phone. The reason it’s harder to switch currently, is because they aren’t able to offer the competitive plans due to the current state of the market, you can find out more here.
