Hi, during use of my first electricity smart meter + in-home display (gas could apparently not be connected, for logistical reasons) with my previous energy supplier, I noticed discrepancies in displayed rates (higher) versus actual billing. Their technical team never gave me an explanation.

When I switched to OVO several years ago I kept my old in-home-display monitor and, again, electricity unit rates are consistently higher than my rates as per contract + billing. OVO's tech team did not remotely adjust or give clarification.

(I am aware that some monitor display "pages" show price incl. VAT, others not.)

I check my electricity consumption (+ usage in £s) on the monitor daily, knowing that it is in fact slightly lower (which my app info + bills confirm).

Why does the IHD not tally with my real consumption/unit rates?

Why does Ovo's tech team not adjust?

Why can I not have a gas smart meter installed, but must provide several own readings per month via the app. (Surely, technology has moved on enough that even old gas meters in kitchen cabinets can send readings through walls and doors!!?)

Any good techy info from Forum members? Or in fact from OVO themselves?

Thanks!

Hi @Sanka14 ,

To help us answer this one, please show us photos of everything you’ve got and what you’re seeing.

Once we see those, we’ll swing by again to see what we can suggest.

Thanks!

Hey @Sanka14,

Some great advice from @Blastoise186 - if you’re able to upload a few photos of your meter and in home display, it helps us tailor the advice to the setup you have 😊
