How long does it take for a profile class change to happen? I recently had smart meters installed and at the same time asked for my profile class to be changed from “02” to “01” so I wont have to deal with getting future quotes for E7 tariffs.

 

The odd thing is that around the same time as having the smart meters and the request for a profile class change is that my account is showing no active energy tariff. I don’t know if that is connected or not but chatting with OE they tried suggesting that my tariff was not set up, even tough I clearly have emails to show it has been and was active up and until the smart meter install. My IHD even shows the correct tariff.

When you last asked about this, it was suggested that a profile change would not be possible due to issues with the OVO billing system.

They didn’t suggest there would be an issue with it. What I’m concerned about is my tariff disappearing and whether it is connected or not. To be clear I asked for the profile class change a week after I had the smart meters installed. I joined OE on the 18th of July and everything was fine with my tariff showing the correct (single) rate for both peak and off peak but since having the smart meters two weeks ago the tariff has disappeared and the gas meter still hasn’t been fully set up yet. I was just wondering with the profile request has had anything to do with the tariff disappearing and if so does that mean I have to wait until it goes through before the tariff comes back and I can be billed correctly.

My mistake - people often refer to Octopus as OE.
