Having trouble connecting my tado wireless to my Internet. Think it's a compatibility issue with virgin broadband. Anyone know of a way to get thr Internet bridge to connect?

Thanks everyone

Evening @Martinparker05 ,

I generally don’t bother with ISP Routers myself as I found them all terrible. Based on my experience, it’s not worth trying to fix - they tend to be fussy and pretty badly locked down so you’re better off using your own router.

Since you’ve got Virgin, you can’t get rid of the Virgin router completely, but you can put it into Hub-Only/Modem-Only Mode, hook up whatever router you want and move everything over - that’s what I do! Just make sure NOT to use the same Wi-Fi name/password for your own router as you did for the ISP one.

If you want a good one, Ubiquiti has the UniFi Dream Router at https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/all-unifi-cloud-gateways/products/udr or if you just want it to work and skip the fancy stuff, there’s UniFi Express at https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/cloud-gateways-wifi-integrated/products/ux?variant=ux-uk

But feel free to make your own choice if you’d rather use another vendor. Either way, doing this means you can use the same kit with any ISP regardless of who you’re with.
