Updated on 01/11/23 by Tim_OVO: You are now able to add more than one EV for Charge Anytime from within the Charge Anytime app. Under ‘connected cars’ you should see the option to add another vehicle at your home location.
As of the 1st November 2023, Charge Anytime now offers 7p per kWh for smart charging. It can be added to any OVO plan, including electric-only households
Who can get Charge Anytime
There are now two ways you can get Charge Anytime:
You must have an eligible EV or Smart Charger, we’re constantly looking into ways to broaden eligibility of this product so if your technology isn’t currently on this list keep an eye on our page for updates!
Hi Blastoise - yes, I’ve dropped them a line earlier this morning, I was just wondering if anyone else had had problems.
Thanks!
I’m having exactly the same issue… for the last month-or-so, and since the last app update, I have had this issue about 3 times now, once for approx 48 hours where apparently my car (Audi Q4) was charging for the full time…
I had to delete the app, and then re-install it - and it seemed to sort itself out.. but has as of today happened again, and is showing as last updated at 08:25 yesterday..
I’m currently charging on full-cost electric - not great…
The app has been working fine since March 2023, but this last 4 weeks has been a lottery, sometimes my car hasnt been charged on a morning - basics to get right really.!!
Looking at other subject-trails - it is happening to a number of people with Q4 and Pod-Point when using OVO charge anytime…
I have yet to receive the promoted 7p per kWh reduced rate, looking at my charge history it is still at 9p per kWh, and until the app is fixed - its at 29p per kWh.!!

I'm having exactly the same issue with my Q4. Which makes me think it's an Audi issue. However, like you I'm paying full price for charging my car and the only reason I switched to OVO was for charge anytime. If it doesn't work, then I'll be very unhappy. Hopefully Audi and/or Kaluza get something sorted soon.
Hey @mdanhieux and @AndyH74,
Thank you for letting us know, I’ve reported this to the team. I’d also advise emailing chargeanytime@ovo.com as well, if you haven’t already.
Thank you - will do, the issue still remains.
charge anytime app says it updated at 03:20 today, but the information re: car battery level & range is as per 18.12.2023...
Mine is still stuck at 8:21am on the 18th. Battery level and range not updated either.
I'm hoping this is sorted soon.
Just received this from OVO.
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for getting in touch.
I'm sorry the communication between Audi and Charge Anytime has affected your charge sessions.
We've been made aware of an issue with Audi that is affecting a large number of Charge Anytime customers.
This started on Monday 18th around 8am and is being investigated.
We do not have a timescale on when we will have an solution to this issue but our technical team have your details in order to reach out with next actions when needed.
The million dollar questions for me are:
- who’s fault is this… OVO or Audi…?
- who’s going to recompense all the charge-anytime users affected by this.?
whilst there is no time-scale on reaching a resolution, all those affected are now paying full-price EV charging - so roughly 3 x the cost of the low-rate pence per kWh charge cost that is supposed to be the case…
My thoughts exactly. Ive asked that question to OVO. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Just as an FYI, I appear to be back online. Updated at 10:49am with correct milage and battery percentage.
@AndyH74 and @Chimaera500 are you both back online as well?
It’s working for me at the moment. The ID3 had a similar issue a couple of weeks ago but only for a short period of time.
I think it’s a manufacturer server issue as opposed to Ovo. The Ovo app was mirroring the car one - as soon as the car app was able to synch with their server, the Anytime app all started working as it should again.
Just to say, I appear to be offline again with my Audi, not updated since 15:45 on Xmas day. Bloody useless. But like you say, I think it's an Audi issue.
However, if this continues I think I'll be forced to switch to octopus as at least I'll get a cheap rate whether the Audi servers are down or not. With OVO im reliant on Audi functionality which plainly is rubbish at the moment.

@mdanhieux did it start working again or are you going to switch to Octopus?
