The heat pump starts off at a minimum of £500 per year due to the initial cost and that is after the grant. It’s over a £1,000 a year without a grant. The AAHP is standalone, £800 over 10 years. The gas boiler starts off at £4,000 over 15 years but probably 20 as it’s very lightly loaded. It’s only really going to be used on the coldest of days or if the electricity prices are high for some reason. With TRVs (that you can’t use with a heat pump) the gas boiler will only be heating the other rooms in the house as required to balance the heating. You are only asking the AAHP and the gas boiler to do what they do best so the combination is saving both money and gas at the same time. The immersion heater is saving gas on the lowest priced days but it’s capable of storing a certain amount of extra heat (as a  battery) for later use so may save more than is initially es

 This was supposed to be a short piece. My apologies in advance to the part of your life you won’t get back after you have  read it but it does a condense a lot of thought and research into one article so I think it’s worth reading. To save time you  can skip the boxes.   This is an personal journal of how the use of energy in one household has evolved over the past few years with a  surprising setback but also an unexpected development and future possibilities for getting towards Net Zero. However,  this is not about how a typical migration might happen. This is about an experiment that was kick started out of the chaos  that was the result of Covid and then Russia invading Ukraine and how it influenced my thinking about how to reduce my  costs with very high energy prices.. Ford EV charging no longer working with Charge Anytime - what's happened?

I have a Ford Mach-E and have been using OVO charge anytime for about 4 months now.But Ford have decided OVO is a security risk and has blocked the account.Is anyone else using this successfully? Is there any plans for charge anytime to support Ford cars?

Erratic charging

 We have a Toyota RAV4 PHEV. When the car has no charge left in its battery, we plug it in to the charger ready to charge overnight as per the set charging schedule. However it either does not charge at all or charges for 10 to 15 minutes .One time it has been plugged in for 2 nights running and has not charged at all. We plugged the car in on Thursday night and it charged 3.0kwh and again on Friday night when it charged 1.4kwh. Both times the battery had no charge left when we plugged it in. On Wednesday night it fully charged.Charging with the app is completed erratic and unreliable. ChargedEV say there is nothing wrong with the charger. Indra says that the app is sending a message to the car which it is not accepting  and to check with Toyota. We have checked with our local Toyota dealer, they said to check the cars scheduling , which we did and it has never been set up with a charging schedule. We were told to delete any Toyota apps that we might have installed which we did. We hav

issues with change to charge anytime log in

I received the email about only using 1 charge anytime log in for all cars from 2nd May but we’ve been away. We have 2 Teslas and the only way to be able to use it for both cars when we joined OVO was to set up 2 separate accounts. It also states it needs to be your OVO energy log in details - unless I mis-read that? Which I can’t log in with?we charged one of the cars last night and it is not showing the saving in the app??I have tried unsuccessfully to add my car to the other app. we have tried deleting our 2 accounts to set up a new one but we are not able to do that either, we can remove the cars but when we press delete account nothing happens!! when I download the app there is no option to register either only a log in option..  help please?

Why is Charge Anytime not updating compared to renault app

Currently having issues with Charge Anytime not updating Charge % and range.  It is picking up if car is away from home or if it is not plugged in.  Seems like some of the Renault metadata is being read and some not.  Anyone else seeing this?   First noticed on Wednesday Iast week and reported it by email on Thursday.  Was briefly working on Thursday but now stuck at 100% and 16 miles since Friday.  Anyone else seen anything similar?

Charge Anytime - Why won't it charge 100%?

I just installed Charge Anytime for my Mercedes EQC 400.I have it set on Min 50% and Max 100%.  My question:Why can’t it just be set to a 100% charge, or even 95%? I don’t want it to only charge 50%. I’ve tried it twice and all I get the car charged is around 50% but I need the battery to be fully charge for my longer journeys. It’s quite stressful not knowing if I’ll have enough battery or not when I leave the house in the morning.Is it meant to work like this? Why can’t I just set the % I want it charged at? The highest I can move the Min charge to is 50%. I’ve contacted OVO but they’re not getting back to me. Thanks.

Hello Like most people in this forum, I've recently started having issues with my Ford MachE using charge anytime. I seen on another thread we're hopeful to have an update today, can anyone confirm if we've a resolution.Ill simply have no other option but to leave and join one of the company's offering a discounted EV

Ford electric vehicle smart charging issue with OVO Charge Anytime?

Earlier this week Ford Pass suspended my account as linked with OVO (3rd Party App)Therefore I am unable to use and will cost c£100 per month more on my electricity bill.Is anyone else experiencing this issue and what are Ford and OVO doing to resolve?I use a Pod Point 7kw charger to charge a Ford Mustang Mach E XL using the OVO Charge anytime App linked to my Ford Pass for the smart charging to give me best rate.

How to set up your smart charger to use it with Charge AnytimeTutorial

If you have a compatible charger (such as an Indra or Ohme) then you need to link the charger to your OVO online account. You don’t need the additional Charge Anytime app. Ohme have made step by step instructions on how to set up Charge Anytime.We recommend opening your OVO online account in Google Chrome, and following these steps: (If this doesn’t work the first time please try this using a new ‘Incognito’ window) Go to the Offers and Upgrades section. Click on the Charge Anytime banner. Select the compatible charger that you have (Ohme or Indra). It’ll ask you for the username and password to log in to your charger manufacturers’ app. This will link your charger to your OVO account and you’ll get a new heading in your OVO account called ‘Your EV’.  You’ll still need to schedule the charging in your charger manufacturers' app. And after you’ve charged, the savings will show in the Your EV section of your online account. NOTE - If you ‘Boost’ or ‘Max Charge’ on the charger to charge i

Audi Q4 not charging with Charge Anytime app

Ok so this seems to be a problem with Audis after doing some research. I have a project ev charger and after doing through all the options I can’t get the app to charge via the smart charge. So annoying. You connect it to the car, the app says it’s connected you tell it when you want it charged by and it does nothing all night. Even when you press for an urgent charge it doesn’t work. Contacted the support email, not much help to be honest. Anyone sorted this problem out?

Can anyone clear up a very confused new member?I have a Citroen e-C4 (Series E 2024). I have PV battery system with a bi-directional FIT meter. Internet available. Proposed EV Charger to be either OHME ePod or Easee One OVO account holderMy query is would I qualify for Charge Anytime?If not, what would my likely kwh rate (assuming that I can set up an economic time of charge for either charger).If Charge Anytime is not available, what (and when) is it likely to be compatible?

Mercedes max. charge level discussion

I have read through some of the forum topics and it is well-documented that Mercedes and Indra/OVO has an as yet unresolved problem, that being the maximum charge level is re-set to 50% by software Gremlins.I wanted to start a dedicated forum topic about this issue and keep it going until it is resolved, because this is not a minor inconvenience. It would be THE reason for me to not have ordered and signed a finance engagement for a Mercedes EV, or paid over £1000 to OVO for a charger. In my circumstances, charging at home is a key reason to have an EV. Without that, I would go back to a diesel tomorrow.I will update the thread when Mercedes replies to me by email, now that I have been able to pinpoint the issue for them. So far (before I knew there was a big problem), they have replied quickly but with the generic “reinstall the Mercedes Me app - send fault logs - what phone are you using” etc etc etc.So, I invite you to write your workarounds (if there are any), your communication wi

Ovo Charge Anywhere app not recognising Charge Anytime

I’ve downloaded the new Ovo Charge app (that allows you to see charge points on any of the affiliated networks and potentially pay for cheaper PAYG rates). but when I log in with my Ovo details it doesn’t recognise that I have charge anytime connected to my account.Has anyone else encountered this or have anyidea how to overcome? The app has no support function at least not until i can log in!

Interruptions to charging of EV at home - make charging virtually impossible

I got a BMW 330e PHEV in February, and have had continuous problems with charging at home from the start.  Charging will get under way OK, but be interrupted at frequent random intervals, so that I have to reset charging at the car, when charging will restart, only to fail after 2-50 minutes.  The problems occur at any time of day or night.  Details:1    BMW checked the car's charging 2 days ago, and found it free of any fault.  The car's charging control system is being triggered to shut off the supply of power by some change in the quality of the power supplied by OVO.2    interruptions occur whether I supply the power via my Indra Smart Pro charger OR via a 3-pin plug from one of our domestic sockets (using in this case the BMW-supplied Flexible Cable Charger.  So apparently the fault is arising upstream of both my domestic outlets and Indra Smart Pro charger and its separate cabling from the meter box.  As far as I can understand, this can only be in the meter box itself, or even i

My BMW I4 charges for 2 mins and stops

I have been charging my BMW I4 from home with no changes over the last 6 months. For some.reason the last 3 attempts at home charge for 2 mins and then stops. I charged it a petrol station fine a few days ago and it was fine so I know it's not an issue with the car HELP Hak

How to set up charge anytime with a non compatible EV charger

Hi, I have just had a EV charger installed. The brand is not one of the compatible chargers. The charger has its own app with a stop/start/smart charge functions. How would I get the OVO smart charging to still work? If I leave the car plugged into the charger and not start a charge, I’m presuming the OVO anytime app can’t control it. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

ovo app not seeing charger. before and after deleting from ohme app. help!

Hi, first post so be kind 😁.Just had ohme Epod installed - charges okay.Registered charger fine in ohme app, but it didn't like selecting OVO as supplier, so used manual add tariff ok.Set a short charge by okay.Ovo app in "my ev" can't connect to charger.So I ended up deleting acc on ohme app, and unregister for anytime add on.Re did it all, still same and now no cheap rate.Ohme said it's because ovo still attached to first attempt account. How do I make work with OVO properly please? Cheers M

Mismatch between Wallbox and OVO Charge Anytime recordings?

 This shows the Month of April up to now. Wallbox info on the left and OVO Anytime info on the right. If you add them both up, you end up with almost exactly the same numbers total. So why are they so incredibly different day to day and how do they end up nearly the same at the end ???? Why is this so confusing? It looks like the Kona is often charging outside the Anytime schedule and by this I mean, the car is charging, but if I go to the Anytime App on my phone, it’s showing the schedule as due to start in several hours time. The reason this gives me more doubt and confusion is that doing the same comparison as above (Wallbox vs OVO readings) before I owned the Kona, which is just a month now and only owned a Tesla, the readings were about 30% apart, showing the OVO readings as much higher than the Wallbox. Which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Sorry for the ramble and I hope someone understands this.

OVO charge anytime- second vehicle charging at 1kw?

Ok wonder if anyone is having same issiei have had my Indra pro for 6 months. Always been on Ovo anytime. Have 2 EVs. And charge them both when needed generally using a schedule of 8am for which ever is plugged on however for the last week or so, one car will charge fine , and receive a full 7kw at Ovos discretion and be charged in the morning the other will not. It sits at 1kw charging. If I manually override the schedule it will go immediately to 7kw. So that proves the car and charger are working fine in  unison. But switching back to schedule and leave it overnight it’s just not charged in the morning and I have to charge on public chargers on that car while out and about. But the other car works fine this only started around ten days ago any thoughts
