Has anyone received their email yet with the final figures for October?

Ive had the credit on my account so I know I've met, but curious to know what % i came out at, as i couldn't match my figures to the halfway email, whereas September I was spot on.

Not yet but have also has credit applied to account

@Ria no I haven't received my email either and I to would like to know what my % was.

Hi @Ria  - I haven't got the email either. I do see a credit (£10) but I thought that was for the previous month (someone in the forum at some point said reward is paid in following month)  Are you seeing the increased  £15 credit for the Oct - Dec Autumn challenge?

I have the £15 credit for this month showing on my account

Thanks @2versus1  :)

I  think I will be looking it to why I haven't then ( I really do seem to be running a month behind but have no idea why!)

On my bills I have been credited 2 × £10 for August and September in September, (I joined in August) nothing in October but my November 'bill to date' shows a credit of £15 - presumably for October. so the figures have caught up.

I seem to remember the percentage figures email came around the middle of the month.

Thanks for that info  @Tricia  - very useful. Will look at my bills in more detail .

@decroisic

My October credit shows in my current bill for November. It always shows in the following month.

Thanks @Ria  :)

Can someone tell me exactly where do I find the added credit. I’m confused

HI @Sweetpxxxx

I only use the online account (not the app) and for me I go to “Billing History”, click on “view current billing period”  and scroll down to “other Charges” - and that's where the credit shows.

If I look at previous bills I have to click on “view full details” to see the credit.

@decroisic  Thanks for that ..  have now found my credit on my app.

In the app, click on "Payments" , then click on "See details" for the current period and under "Other" there sound be an item reading "Power Move Promotion Credit - £15".

@Simon 1402 Thats great Simon, I’ve found it now. Cheers.

Hey all,

@Ria

I did reply on the other thread, but thought I’d share with the other’s who’ve been affected.

I reached out to the team about missing Power Move emails, we apologise but there has been a delay in some emails being sent out. You’ll receive the usual email within the next few days.

Apologies again for the inconvenience, glad to hear you’ve all had your credits applied to the bills though!🙂

i couldn't match my figures to the halfway email, whereas September I was spot on.

I was also slightly out in my own figures to the halfway email.

That’s probably because I’m using the daily figures for ½ hour usage periods as posted on my online account, which are only shown to 2 decimal places.

From what I’ve read the actual calculation at OVO is done to 3 decimal places - (even though it only gives 2 DP on the email, same as the online account) - so the totals end up slightly different in their 3 DP calculation than in my 2 DP calculation.
(Some people are going as far as getting their figures direct from the metering organisation so they can also have their own calculations at 3 decimals. That seems overkill to me).

However; the more figures that are are included then that diference in decimal points will usually/often tend to even out, (plus 0.001 here, minus 0.002 there, plus another 0.001, and so on) so I’d expect the end of month figures to be closer than the mid-way ones, simply because there are twice as many figures included.

Yes, that should come out in the wash, particularly when there are more than 1,000 figures involved for the whole month.

It’s also possible that you’re comparing apples to goats. I think you’ll find that the ‘system’ operates on GMT, so what you see on the usage pages for total daily usage won’t necessarily match the figure that OVO use to calculate the percentage. It rather depends where you look; adding up all 48 half-hours won’t always be the same as the figure shown at the top of the page.

I too get annoyed that usage figures are available to the nearest Wh, yet they’re only displayed to the nearest 10Wh. I just checked my consumption for yesterday; totting up the figures on the usage Day page, I arrived at 2.11 kWh. At the top of the page, it says 2.09 kWh. If I use the underlying data - to three places of decimals - I get to 2.086 kWh. That’s a 24 Wh difference on a single day, without any BST/GMT jiggery-pokery. Luckily, that’s now behind us.

I'm not too bothered about the BST/GMT thing, personally I don't think it made that much difference as long as the 4-7 period was correct. (Unless you were using heavy kW appliances between 23:00 and 01:00)

Maybe we should campaign for 3 DP for usage figures on the account pages? Of course that depends if the software that shows the account is capable of showing 3 DP.

Just received a "well done "email. My average for October was 7.67% so I really did earn the £15!!!

... so the totals end up slightly different in their 3 DP calculation than in my 2 DP calculation.

I now have the end of month email.

Email figure 7.70%.
My own calculation 7.72%

I’ll go with only a 0.02% difference over the month being due to the 2DP vs 3DP calculations.

Also received my e.mail today along with £15 reduction on my bill. Managed to reduce peak usage from 16 to 9.4 percent in first month doing little more than preparing and cooking meals before or after target hours. Also, as previously mentioned being elderly and single (and a fair cook!) I've  been bulk buying food, cooking in batches and freezing individual portions to defrost naturally and reheat in about a minute in the microwave. Savings all round.😄

PS, if anyone is interested, I've, over the years, come up with lots of my own healthy, hearty recipes ideally suited for this type of catering. Be more than happy to share my ideas.

Fantastic to hear, @IanFerguson. This is what Power Move is all about: being a bit more conscious of when to use electricity can have a big impact on grid demand and carbon intensity!

🙋🏼

One vote for hearing more about these recipes. Perhaps start a new topic in Power Move and I can move any related comments over to it..?

Thanks Tim,

Don't know if forum rules would permit a topic sharing recipe and cooking ideas but if it does I'd be happy to start one off and see if other members bite (good pun for an old bloke eh?).

What do you think?

It does indeed allow that - especially since TIm has given his approval! :)

Tim absolutely loves stuff that helps build the community.

Oh, I get it now Blastoise, you're forum volunteer! Wondered why you are such a prolific contributor. Well done chap!
