Heat Pump Plus is now available for customers with eligible Viessmann air source heat pumps.
This means you can power your heat pump for less and save up to £300 on your heating bills versus your standard variable tariff.*
What do I need to be eligible?
To be eligible for Heat Pump Plus, you’ll need to:
- have an energy account with OVO. Not with OVO? Get a quote in just 2 minutes.
- have a Viessmann Vitocal 150-A or 151-A air source heat pump connected to an active ViCare app account. You may also be eligible if you have a connected Vaillant heat pump, or if you bought your heat pump through our partner Heat Geek. Find out more here.
- have a smart meter that sends half-hourly readings. If you don’t have one, you can have it installed through OVO at no extra cost.
Full eligibility criteria listed here.
Your Viessmann heat pump also needs to be connected to an active Viessmann ViCare app account. This lets us make sure the heat pump is connected to the internet, so data can be sent back to Viessmann and OVO.
What is Heat Pump Plus?
It’s our heat pump add-on that lets you power your heat pump for less, at 15p per kWh. You’ll pay one rate for the electricity your home uses and a cheaper rate for the electricity your heat pump uses – saving up to £300 a year on their heating bills.* See more information on our Heat Pump Plus page here.
This is now our second partnership with a heat pump manufacturer, with more to come as we open up to other manufacturers. You can see our post all about our other Heat Pump Plus partner here.
*Actual sum is £303.54. When you add Heat Pump Plus to your plan, your home energy rate will stay the same, but the energy consumed by your heat pump will be charged at an effective rate of 15p per kWh (thanks to payment of your Heat Pump Plus credit). The £303.54 saving is based on an air source heat pump with a UK average Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (or efficiency rating) of 2.8 and an annual consumption of 3,644 kWh with the Heat Pump Plus add-on compared to OVO's average SVT rate of 23.33p per kWh. Actual savings will vary depending on your heat pump usage, efficiency rating and the cost per kWh of your standard home energy tariff. Rates accurate as of June 2024.
