hi,

we had solar panels, an inverter and pure drive battery fitted. So far we have used a fraction of electricity produced.

The battery does not charge or discharge.

Installer says it’s a fault and are waiting for pure drive- I think it’s set up as it charged from the grid at one point and discharged to the house, but they changed the settings and now nothing.

Installer also say the meter doesn’t show up on the system in any their installations. The meter in our fuse box has remained at zero.

The real question - is this a set up fault or a product fault?

Thanks

Thanks for posting about this, @magstl. Sorry to hear about your journey into energy generation and storage. It can only get better!

There’s some forum members here that may be able to advise about the Solis app, @edsashley even had this with the Pure Drive battery. @pumpkin was very recently reporting an issue. @chrishart also reported issues similar to this. @Mbu1982 similar also?

Hi @magstl which inverter do you have? We might be able to look up a manual to check the settings for you

Are you getting any faults reported from your inverter?

No faults.

Inverter is solis hybrid with a data logger, 5kWp rating. It’s set up for the puredrive battery- well it is meant to be.

thanks

Ok - here’s one of the manufacturers manuals. They do have various 5kw versions so you should check which one you have.

Write to soliseu, they respond in a day or two and are able to go through all the settings remotely and alter any that may be causing problems.

Thanks- this is a manual I haven’t seen yet.

It’s so frustrating as the company isn’t responding and we are watching our excess energy disappear. i can’t even sell it as they haven’t given me the certificate number.

Hello,

I contacted Pure Drive directly and they asked for photographs. It turns out there is a cable between the battery and the inverter on the wrong way round.

We don’t want to touch it, installer not responding so pure drive are sending out an engineer.

So angry at installer, but hoping it will be fixed soon.

Thanks for all your responses.

That’s not too uncommon unfortunately. There are several installers who don’t really understand all the interconnects involved.
Let us know how you get on after the pure drive engineer visits

Hello again,

I wanted to report how it was fixed in the end.

Pure Drive engineers came up to sort the issue.

The cable the installer used from the battery to the inverter was a Solis manufactured one. They do not work properly. He replaced the cable with a Pure Drive one and our battery is working.

Yesterday we used 1.4kwh of power all day, finally we have what we paid for.

Thank you all for your comments.

Good to hear @magstl . This will help others I’m sure
